Prufrock Coffee
5168 N College Ave, Indianapolis, IN
Crema's Take
“This vintage-forward Indianapolis spot charms with its cozy basement seating complete with a fireplace and thoughtful details like their signature plastic cups, making it feel like a carefully curated small business rather than just another coffee shop. Their creative specialty drinks—like the Ube sweetened coffee—and quality pastries pair well with a walkable location that's ideal for lingering over a laptop or meeting a friend, though service can be inconsistent during busier moments. The warm, nostalgic atmosphere across multiple intimate seating areas is what keeps people returning, even if the coffee itself is more approachable than exceptional.”

The coffee is decent, cakes are okay, but the service was not the best. Me and my husband saw the good reviews about it and were there for the first time today. We ordered a couple items and got told that they were out after we already paid and have been waiting for them. Also, our order was forgotten and the barista questioned us with some kind of attitude when we told her we haven’t gotten one of the items yet. The place is cool but the experience was not as good.
Nice vintage coffee shop with a warm small business feel. Nice walkable to shopping area.
Nice small coffee shop with a cozy and warm basement seating option with a fireplace! The only complaint I have is that the person in front of me and I waited at least 5 minutes without acknowledgement that we were even there or would be waited on shortly. To be fair, the barista was making drinks, but she saw us and said nothing. I wasn’t sure if the person in front of me had already ordered or if I was in the right spot to order, etc. just a little awkward. The drink was delicious (I got the mango matcha fruity drink) and the blueberry muffin was good!
First off even though it's a little frivolous, I do adore the plastic cups they use. It really adds to the experience. The drink I got was pretty yummy and the baked goods looked great. I liked the fact that they have ample sitting with some space up top, cozy vibes in the basement, and even outdoor space. What really makes it for me is the literary interior decorations.
I wanted to try Prufrock coffee for their Ube sweetened coffee options. Ambience is really cozy with a lot of seating indoor and outdoor too. They also have a downstairs basement kind of space with a whole lot seating and a really cool library vibe which is a perfect spot for catching up with friends, working or read that book along with a coffee ☺️ I tried their spring special Purple Haze frost.
