Crema's Take

The Autostrada is a casual Neapolitan-style pizza counter in Carrboro where you can grab a quick slice with excellent service or linger over a pie in a welcoming atmosphere that feels equally good for solo coffee moments or group meetups. Their thin, crispy crust delivers authentic Italian vibes without pretension, and the nut-free pesto is a thoughtful touch for those with allergies. It's the kind of place where friendly staff, fair prices, and consistent quality make it feel like a genuine neighborhood spot rather than just another college-town cafe.

What to expect

Classic coffee drinks done right. A slow-sit, quick-grab spot, good for meetings. Pastries and light food on the menu. Family friendly.

The service is very good and friendly. I think the pizza slices are priced fairly. The pizza itself is not my favorite because the crust is so dry and crunchy. It’s good overall but not my top pizza spot. I know pizza is a matter of preference, of course.

The pizza was great! We got one 16in and one 10in. Their pesto is indeed nut free which was a plus.

Pizza was probably the best I’ve had in chapel hill and carrboro hands down. Very affordable also and a great vibe. Hope this new spot succeeds! Also the staff was very nice.

Nice pizza place; very simple and easy to order. You can choose from various styles of pizza and then add any toppings you choose. Food comes out quick and hot

We were disappointed with our visit tonight. The overall quality of the panini was poor—served on toasted focaccia rather than grilled or pressed, leaving it dry and barely warm. The Ancona panini was missing the advertised oven-roasted tomatoes entirely, and the Parma panini…
