American Brew

Crema's Take
“This cozy Virginia Beach spot near the bay delivers a surprisingly robust menu that goes well beyond typical coffee shop fare, with quality pastries and full breakfast options that genuinely impress. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff create an ideal refuge for lingering over a laptop or catching up with friends, though you might want to scope out your barista of choice—consistency with the espresso drinks could use some work. It's the kind of place that rewards a spontaneous stop-by with charm and substance, even if their holiday lineup could use a little creative expansion.”

I wish the drinks were made more consistently. For example, every time I order a latte, it tastes different depending on who makes it. It would be great if everyone followed the same recipe. Also, the blueberry muffins seem underbaked. The inside is still wet and could definitely use more time in the oven.
Awesome spot. Fantastic menu. Super friendly staff. One complaint is their holiday menu. Can you even call it a holiday menu without an eggnog latte? Add that next year and I’ll be your best friend. (Don’t use that fake eggnog powder like those clowns over at Starbucks)
My wife and I were driving by and decided to stop at American Brew, and we’re glad we did. The inside is very nice and cozy, with a welcoming vibe that makes it a great spot to relax. They offer a monthly drink menu in addition to their regular coffee options, plus some fun adult coffee drinks. Their food menu also has a good mix of breakfast and lunch choices. We tried the iced vanilla latte and the iced PB&J latte—both were excellent. For food, we shared the steak and cheese breakfast burrito, which was amazing. The thinly sliced steak really made it stand out. Overall, a great find with tasty drinks, delicious food, and a comfortable atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back.
This coffee shop is conveniently located near the bay and boat docs on Shore Drive. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff are friendly. My hot, seasonal coffee was lukewarm warm, instead of hot, but tasted good. This is a nice place to visit!
This place surprised me. I thought it was a coffee shop with a few snacks or breakfast sandwiches. They have a surprisingly large menu and each thing we ordered was amazing quality and tasted delicious. Their special sauces on their breakfast bowls stand out and packed with flavor. Great staff, great vibes. They had some live music on a Saturday morning. This place can get busy.
