Crema's Take

Mela's is a warm neighborhood gathering spot in Naples where the owner actively engages with guests and her team genuinely cares about making you feel welcome, though quality can be inconsistent. The menu ventures into unexpected territory with creative breakfast options like gyros and breakfast pizza alongside traditional fare, best experienced during their morning hours when the kitchen seems most reliable. It's the kind of place where regulars keep coming back for the hospitality and unique offerings, even if execution isn't always perfect.

We usually go here all the time after today’s visit we won’t be back. Poor food, (also your potato’s are moldy!) and poor service. Skillet was serviced with raw peppers cold and hard with a warm skillet isn’t great. The meat wasn’t good and was so over cooked. Eggs were blah no flavor, and potatoes were gross Server was never seen, we had empty drinks for about 20 minutes before she bothered to come check.

Mela hosted our women’s group today. She and her team were more than welcoming and accommodating to our group. She engage with our group, and took time to take a photo with us. And on top of the amazing service and atmosphere provided, my avocado toast was absolutely delicious. Thank you again!

First time coming to Mela’s, The server Nandito was very respectful and made sure i had everything i needed. I had the Chicken with Lemon Butter sauce and it was a 10/10. The sauce was rich and flavorful without it being to heavy or light just perfect. The Cherry Tomatoes complimented the chicken taste. The service was wonderful and everyone was very friendly/kind. I will be coming back to enjoy another savory dish.

We went to dinner with some friends who had eaten breakfast and lunch here but never dinner (Mela's only recently started serving dinner). We were seated at a table in the bar area which was quieter than the room at the main entrance as they were in the process of serving a huge group of 60 in the main dining area and it was very loud. The owner, Mela (Camela), waited on us. Candidly, we did not know what to expect from a place that has built a good reputation for breakfast and lunch fare. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the menu variety including sandwiches, fish entrées, steak and several pasta dishes. They also have some good looking salad items that you can amp up with a list of proteins including steak, gyro meat or fresh fish. They have a full bar and two of our group ordered wine. My wife and I had planned to go with some salads because we are constantly working on our over the hill beach bodies. However, a table close to us ordered the Rueben and Cheeseburger. They both looked so good that we caved (we knew we would) and decided to share the same thing. I didn't want the fries so Mela suggested I try their home made coleslaw which was very good. It turns out the Rueben comes with both fries and coleslaw so we had some left over to take home with us. Our friends both ordered chicken and pasta dishes which they both enjoyed and also had plenty to take home for another dinner. For desert, we split the tiramisu which comes with ice cream. It was not homemade and was just OK. I will probably skip it next time. I'm already planning to take my grandsons here next week for breakfast because they have homemade buttermilk pancakes and any day I can take my grandsons out for some good pancakes and eggs is a good day. Mela says I won't be disappointed. After my meal last night, I don't think I will be. My best summary of Mela's is that my wife asked me not to write this review because when people find out how good this place is, you won't be able to get a table during the season....

Really unique breakfast spot that has delicious gyro - we ordered the breakfast pizza (so excited that we forgot to take a photo!). Never had a pairing like that before but absolutely delicious. Everything was perfectly seasoned ie not too salty for me, which I love. French toast was so good in flavor and texture, and the pancakes were super fluffy and soft. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend if you're in the area and looking to start your day off with a hearty meal.
