The Thirsty Frog
, Virginia Beach, VA
Crema's Take
“This Virginia Beach neighborhood gem has a welcoming, casual vibe where regulars clearly feel at home and staff like Gabrielle and Bren genuinely care about making your visit special. The Thirsty Frog strikes a nice balance between affordability and quality—whether you're stopping by for drinks, light bites, or to settle in for a late-night hang, the laid-back atmosphere and attentive service make it feel less like a transaction and more like catching up with friends at someone's favorite local spot.”

We went in on a Friday night. Party of 6, celebrating a birthday. Our server was Gabrielle, she stayed on top kf things, the prices weren't over the top, drinks were pretty good. It was karaoke night, and that seemed to run smoothly. All in all a decent little spot. We'd definitely go back.
DJ is same on all Karaoke nights: likes to hear himself sing.. Plays songs when singers are waiting. Only has 1 mic. Bren, waitress is fantastic and beautiful. Food prices increased and menu never changed during the year of going there every weekend. Miss going there but not with the problems described.
Came in while it was open. Knew a hole in the wall will be less busy which I was correct. Wanted to chill and have a good time. No time displayed saying they was closing soon (12am). We thought they close at 2 as the other hole in the wall. We left when we was told we close in 5 minutes after we asked for change to play pool. We left at the beginning of the game because we felt super uncomfortable. When we left, we asked a guy outside smoking if he is a manger, he said yes. We asked why isn’t there a sign of your open to close time, he said you should of asked. Great answer manager.
Virginia Beach, Virginia —- the “Frog” has a neighborhood bar feel ... “Jolly Frog” is a 1st visit for me & bartender “Cherrie” did not disappoint ... the customers appear to be regulars & interactive with each other ... a “Run-A-Way Bill” kinda bar & bartender ... heavy-as-s&@t bar stools ... “Frog” has a “Fire & Water” shot glass (like an hour glass shape), which I knew about, but never saw one in a bar previously ... off-street parking lot, but was really filled with lots of parked cars ... “Run-A-Way Bill” was here! #RunAwayBill 02.27.20
Had the sampler, price was right, the sauces were standard, the fries were a bit bland. Over all not bad , they have foot ball specials all week long 25 cent wings during games, that a plus.. 2 stars..
