Crema's Take

Ballyhoo Table & Stage is a wonderfully unconventional Denver spot that blends specialty coffee and cocktails with live performance art, creating an intimate venue where drag brunches and theatrical shows feel like gatherings with friends rather than polished productions. The welcoming, inclusive atmosphere draws everyone from curious newcomers to families and longtime locals, all settling in for leisurely mornings or pre-show drinks while staff members take the stage right in front of you. It's the rare place that manages to be both a genuine neighborhood coffee shop and a venue with real artistic ambition.

I am not sure where the reviews are coming from. But I went to this place in November, it was great. We went for a drag brunch. It was fun and cute. Not raunchy but the kind you can bring some older family members to lol! But maybe it was because the theme was broadway. Every table was full. The server we had was super sweet and made sure we had food/drinks. I am not sure the reasoning behind the negative reviews but I hate to see a small business get impacted by people who may have never stepped foot in this venue. We do not have a place like this in LoHi! And I’m so happy to finally have something that can cater to drag brunches or other funky shows. If the venue did make a mistake, I hope they can come forward and apologize but from my own personal experience this place was great!

Im a cis gender person, and I just wanted a place to pregame. I walked in, not sure if they were open on a Saturday night and boy am I glad I came. I thought it was a gay bar but they actually identify as queer friendly spot and all folks are welcome here as long as ya don’t cause trouble. So here I am wondering what I walked into and boy was I impressed with the atmosphere, the vibes and the drinks. So apparently this place has lots of shows and events and I came in on a Saturday night when nothing was planned. They’re well known for their drag brunch but they’re good when they don’t have events too. The drinks are pretty reasonably priced, good and boozy. I started off with the draft old fashioned and it exceeded my expectations based on a 13$ draft cocktail. The coffee choices are impressive here and the coffee is good! I got a jacked up and now I’m awake for the show I’m going to after I leave here. The coffee cocktails here are great! The final drink I got I asked for was the bartenders choice. They made me a whiskey manhattan and I was more than satisfied. The vibes and the atmosphere are amazing. They put a lot of thought into the decoration! And i was shocked when my server Joanna went up after giving me a drink and began to sing an amazing song and play piano. Then later on the bartender David went on and was quite the singer himself. I later found out after 4 PM they have amazing singers as the bartenders and servers on duty so if I you come in you can expect a few amazing irl songs to be song. Overall, I’m glad i walked into this random spot and gave it a shot. I didn’t think it was gonna be for me but I’ll be back. The vibes, atmosphere and the drinks are good. Would recommend stopping by to pregame or just grab some coffee. Whether there’s a show or not this is a pretty cool spot!

great local spot with a nice 'coffee shop'/bar vibe right out front w great cocktails! and the staff jumps on stage and performs while your there hanging out! so glad there's a venue like this for large theatre style productions in the main room as well! LGBTQIA+ friendly and some very talented staff. can't wait to come back here!

I went here with my son to see Hedwig and the Angry Inch and we both loved the entire experience. The overall feel of the place was warm and welcoming and the staff was friendly, kind, and accommodating. The drag show for the first hour was a blast and I really enjoyed how Jessica interacted with the crowd. The stage is in a different room in the back and there's not a bad seat in the house. It's intimate and comfortable. The show itself was absolutely incredible: electric, energetic, and perfectly executed! I loved it so much I wish I'd gone a second time! Whether you're there for a show or a cup of coffee, you'll feel the welcoming energy of this fantastic place. Looking forward to seeing another show there soon.

This place has so much potential. I love the atmosphere, the performances and the drinks! We went for a drag brunch but the brunch menu and food menu is seriously lacking. I will definitely be back for more performances and drinks, but not the food!
