Crema's Take

While Nickel City Nitro is primarily a brewery, it's a deeply personal spot where the owners Brian and Cliff genuinely remember regular customers and take time to chat with everyone who walks through the door. With 40+ local beers and ciders on tap, it's the kind of place where you can discover something new while soaking in a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere that feels like a neighborhood gathering spot rather than a bar.

Great little place to grab a beer. They have 40 plus beers/ciders to choice from. Not much of a menu. More of a beer place. Prices are reasonable and their happy hour prices are even better.

Nickle City Brewz in Depew is one of the spots I actually enjoy grabbing a beer — and the fact that it’s right down the road makes it dangerously convenient, and it’s welcoming, let’s be honest: there’s a crew of regulars who seem to have assigned seating. The good kind of regulars — the ones who’ll slide over, talk nonsense, and make you feel like you’ve been coming there for years. They’ve got the best tap selection in town, no argument. Always rotating, always interesting, and occasionally strong enough to make you forget you still have responsibilities. Brian keeps the place running smooth without ever acting like he’s trying. And Cliff? Cliff is the mad scientist behind the bar, cooking up special concoctions that somehow always hit. Just ask what he’s mixing at the moment. (Not my “go to” but a lot of folks love it). Best part? If you kick a keg, that beer is FREE — but you have to ring the cowbell. It’s the rules. The whole bar erupts like you just scored a touchdown, and suddenly you’re the main character for a minute. And when it’s coming down outside? Nickle City Brewz is the perfect spot to watch a snowstorm roll in. Beer in hand, windows frosted, everyone half-settled in for the long haul — it just hits different. Not to mention the sunsets, bring your shades. Good people, great beer, and zero nonsense. Nickle City Brewz feels like home… if home had louder cowbells and way better views during a blizzard.

I had a birthday party last night at Nickel City Brewz and it was perfect. A comfortable atmosphere with an amazing selection of local beer and ciders. Brian and Cliff were great behind the bar and with setting us up for our party. All of our guests, most of who had never been there, were pleasantly surprised. They loved the beer selection and just the overall feel. You had tables of people playing board games, they have corn hole boards, you can hear music, but you can still have a conversation without screaming. Just a great time!

A hidden gem in a city of beer. Above all friendly owners. Always make time to say hello and find out how you're doing. Remebers ever face that comes in. On the business end, 3 dozen beers on tap and many more in cans. Build your own 4 pack and have them crack one open for you and take a seat. It would be a large bar but with social distancing you can sit a few groups there. A few booths and some high tops as well. Big screens for the games, snacks available and a clean spacious gathering spot. Trivia on Wednesday nights. Here for special events

Great place for a beer lover to stop in and try something local and new. Had a great chat with the proprietor, Brian, who was pouring cold ones behind the bar in a Sabres jersey. He knows a lot about local breweries and is really fun to chat with! Plus you've gotta love a business owner who sticks with the Sabes through the tough times.
