Crema's Take

Judy's Cafe is a bustling neighborhood gem in Duluth where locals gather for genuinely excellent comfort food—think fluffy French toast, legendary hash browns, and a sourdough that lives up to the hype, all at reasonable prices. The cozy, small-town atmosphere and abundance of regulars give it real character, though service can be inconsistent depending on when you visit. Whether you're stopping by for a quick coffee and pastry or settling in for a full breakfast, this is the kind of place that feels like a genuine community hub rather than just another diner.

Ordered: French toast, sausage, scrambled eggs, bacon, cranberry toast. Food was good. Cranberry toast was delicious. The French toast tasted good but it was pretty flat. The fluffiness is usually my favorite part. I think the cooks may not know (or don’t care) how to cook scrambled eggs, because they basically looked like an omelet that had been flattened and cut up. Just like a previous reviewer posted in their photos. The prices are very reasonable, so I would be back.

Unfortunately, I wasn't nearly as impressed as others. Quaint-yes. Service was rude and swift. An elderly gentlemen clearly needed help and they offensively swore and offered no help so we did. When I asked to pay for his meal, the cashier was again rude. You could hear the workers talking poorly about others that was easily overheard. It was wrong. The picture below are scrambled eggs. Go to the Vanilla Bean. Much more pleasant atmosphere and more respectful of people with much better food.

Judy's was recommended to me by a relative so I decided to stop for lunch on my way back from the North Shore. It's a small town, quaint cafe with local, regular customers and reasonable prices. The menu options were more substantial than expected and the service by LuAnn was excellent. The breakfast was made to order and fine but the raspberry custard pie was divine. If you like a place with small town charm, I would recommend it.

Judy's is excellent. It is a bustling little place right on the main road. The food was very good, the sourdough other folks have mentioned lived up to the hype. The people were nice, the pie was great. Those ladies were putting in some work keeping that place turning over on a busy 4th of July weekend. Would happily recommend to anyone who is looking for good food and a home town diner feel. There is on street parking that makes parking much easier if you're towing a camper or boat from your trip to the North shore.

Typical diner with not much atmosphere. Food was tasty. The hash browns are fabulous! Our server was short and lacked courtesy. Maybe it was an off day, but definitely not a welcoming attitude and zero friendly chit chat. I had a two egg breakfast with bacon and hasbrowns. My son had a short stack of pancakes .
