Crema's Take

Banyan Tree Café welcomes your pup with genuine warmth, making it one of Bossier City's rare dog-friendly spots where you can linger over traditional coffee drinks without leaving your furry friend behind. Fair warning though: while the service has heart and the space has charm for locals, the kitchen struggles with consistency—online menus don't always match what arrives at your table, and portions can feel skimpy for the price.

Friendly service, but incompetent. False advertisement for food. Major discrepancies between what’s listed online and what you get in person. No discount for VIP players?? Never been to a Penn Gaming institution that didn’t honor the Elite and Owner rewards. The cashier couldn’t even pull up my account to use my comps. She tried for several minutes before I just said I would pay cash - I wouldn’t have even ordered from there if I wasn’t trying to use my comp.

Came here based on the menu I saw online. Sent my son in first, because we have the dog with us. Staying in hotels while we look for a place to live, so can't just leave the dog at hotel. Really hot today, can't leave the dog in car. Went inside when son came back. The menu was DRASTICALLY different from the online menu. See photo posted. I can get a sandwich or salad anywhere. I came here for the food that wasn't available, but shown on the menu. I asked the girl at the register and showed her my phone. She said those things weren't available rn. It was about 6 pm. I asked if it was going to be available later tonight and she said it won't available at all this week. Now I'm old, so I remember when you couldn't notify people that things would be unavailable and they would have to find out when they get there. But this is the modern age. We can update things and notify people much quicker. I wasted a lot of time here. Could have gone somewhere else. Btw, I got an Italian sandwich and a smoothie and my meal was $20+! Could have gotten something I actually wanted somewhere else for that price or less. Very disappointed with this experience. Also, straws are not individually wrapped, so, not protected. I took a picture so you can see what I mean. Anyone's dirty fingers could have touched the top of them while grabbing a straw. My fingers (which i washed just before touching the straws) touched the top of at least two other straws when grabbing it, but I'm sure you can't trust that everyone else has just washed their hands. Including the employees who stock them. In a casino where everyone is touching the machines. And who knows what else. The last picture shows how the condiments and straws/utensils are stored. Last photo is the straws. Other photos are screenshots from the menu of things that weren't available.

Lies lies about food portions and quality, at least for us. We arrived in the evening so our choices were limited and we were told to check out the Banyan Tree. Food was overpriced for what you get. It was barely warm , and mediocre at best. I literally have had better quality food at a movie theater.. even the dessert was basic Walmart quality. Their ONLY saving grace were the workers. They were nice, friendly and helpful.

UPDATE: Here now and once again Glenda (same employee as last time) refused to accommodate this request. Been coming here for years, service has always been slow and they have never been overly friendly, but I have always been able to get the same pizza made without cheese until last night. The only thing that has changed is that they prep them in the morning now (dough, sauce, and cheese uncooked and not frozen). When they initially said they couldn’t do it without cheese I said okay I will just take it off, but then I saw it about to go into the oven and asked why can’t we just take the uncooked cheese off before it goes in? The response was no we can’t, which is completely ridiculous. It was a reasonable and completely doable ask, they were just unwilling to accommodate. It is way easier to take uncooked cheese off than it is to remove it once it’s melted. Maybe not a big deal to many, but for me who can’t eat cheese, it is. They could have done it and just wouldn’t, super frustrating!

This is their pho and Kim chi bowl. Instant ramen. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Most expensive instant noodles I ever ate
