Crema's Take

Anuenue On The Bay is a stunning waterfront escape where you can nurse a cold brew while gazing out at Hilo Bay, though the experience feels more carefully curated for Instagram than optimized for efficiency. The shop shines for leisurely afternoons with its local art displays, comfortable seating, and tasty pastries, but be prepared for unpredictable service and occasional order mix-ups if you're in a hurry. If you prioritize atmosphere and don't mind a slower pace, this is Hilo's best spot to linger with a good coffee and an ocean view.

Ordered a matcha flight, and ended up having to wait about an hour to finally get the drinks. They barely had any customers when we got there and handed out orders to customers that ordered after us, before us. The matcha was subpar and waiting that long for it was insane. Wanted to love it because the ambiance and atmosphere was so cute but definitely not going back.

Five stars for the ambiance, one for the coffee, two for the service. They got both our orders wrong and what we got was sub par too. About 15 minute wait for an Americano and iced latte is pretty crazy when there was only one person in front of us. As bad as the coffee/service was, you feel like you're in some bougie new york cafe and lightens your mood. Then you remember you're poor and this place charges NY prices. Definitely not going back

I agree with the other review saying that the business is more concerned with the aesthetic than accommodating customers. When they opened they had a cute play area for kids which was perfectly inviting for mothers to have a place to go where their kids can be welcome as well. I think they were just playing on that as a gimmick because when accommodating mothers and children became inconvenient they got rid of all the kid stuff and changed the whole vibe of the cafe so honestly it feels like a message that kids (which means mothers as well) aren’t welcome. The crowd is now nothing but hipsters working on laptops and side eyeing you for bringing your kids into the establishment not knowing the place used to be kid friendly. This left such a bad taste in my mouth and I won’t be going back. Plus that matcha latte I had was not good it took a long time for it to come out then it wasnt even hot?

This is my favorite spot to grab a coffee and take in the gorgeous view of the bay! Yummy drinks, food and comfy atmosphere. I also really love the selection of local art and handmade gifts.
