Feng Cha Bakersfield

So yum. We ordered taro chocolate cake and mango fantasy drink I guess and it was so delicious 🤤. On top of that staff is so sweet and kind.

Feng Cha has quickly become our family’s go-to boba spot in Bakersfield. The drinks are consistently excellent and the menu has something for everyone. My personal favorites are the Matcha Latte (smooth and earthy), the Crème Brûlée Dirty Boba (love that caramelized top!), and the Thai Milk Tea which is rich and perfectly balanced. The boba pearls are always chewy and fresh, and the staff are friendly and accommodating with sweetness/ice adjustments. I also love the convenience of ordering — whether online, at the in-store kiosk, or the old-fashioned way in person. A welcoming spot for family outings and easily one of the best tea houses in town. Really good stuff! A little cramped inside the store but drinks are at par with IBT

Great service and tasty drinks. The bobaristas are very kind, and the atmosphere is welcoming. The decor is super pretty, too. We tried the mango fantasy and black milk tea. The mango fantasy was definitely our favorite, super fresh mango flavor, and the toppings were so good. The black milk tea was solid. I'd definitely order again.

Pros: The drinks were delicious The cake was really cute and wasn’t too sweet! The price was fair Lots of choices Kiosks for the introverts! Cons: The entrance was weird. The picture of the model threw us off, so there was a second of uncertainty as we approached. The music was too loud and the cashier was too quiet. I tried to order a jasmine green tea and she heard jasmine apple tea. When I got my order, I tried to explain the mixup to a man who was handing out the drinks and he insisted I got what I ordered. It took him a minute to realize I was saying “Jasmine Green Tea” and not “Jasmine Apple Tea.” Once the drink mixup was cleared, I got my order and it was everything I was hoping it would be! I’ve had the strawberry cake before and it was very good. My husband preferred the chocolate taro cake but his coffee was really good, too. 4/5 for good flavor, good prices, and good service (things worked out well and they handled the mixup well).

The shop is small but clean and cozy, with just a few tables that make it a nice spot to get boba with a friend. I tried the Taro Breeze, Thai Milk Tea, and the Strawberry Cloud Cake. The Taro Breeze was my favorite it was light, creamy, and almost cloud-like in texture. The Thai Milk Tea was solid too, though both drinks had slightly undercooked boba and the bottom portion was warm due to the warm boba. I'm guessing that they're still learning as it is a soft opening. All the milk teas were made using lactose free milk, which I thought was pretty cool. The Strawberry Cloud Cake was an interesting treat. The bread was light and fluffy, and the strawberry topping was bright and flavorful. I personally wasn’t a fan of the cheese foam on top, but that’s more about my taste than the execution. Overall, it was a good first visit and I’m excited to come back to try their other drinks.
