Blue 42's Brewing Barn
2132 Caratoke Hwy, Corolla, NC
Crema's Take
“Blue 42's Brewing Barn converts a historic general store into a refreshingly unpretentious spot where you can grab coffee alongside local baked goods, homemade fudge, and even beer—though inconsistent staffing and execution mean you're taking a gamble on whether someone will actually be around to serve you. The bones are solid: a charming open concept space with genuine local ties and plenty of parking, but several recent visitors walked away frustrated by the lack of clear pricing, locked bathrooms, and feeling ignored despite an empty shop. It's worth a stop if you're passing through Corolla and want to support something new, but don't count on it as a reliable breakfast destination.”
What to expect
Classic coffee drinks done right. A slow-sit, outdoor seating spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast and pastries on the menu. Family friendly. Parking available.

We are from out of town. Should have read the reviews before going….giving it a three stars because of the atmosphere and service. It was empty and the only noise was the tv which was playing a soap opera??? The lady who served us was a little stand offish but did greet us when…
Only 1 person working in the entire place, trying to handle the food counter, fudge counter and bar. No prices marked. Bathroom locked. Was never waited on and won't be back. Plenty of parking though! Probably always will be.

Modernized open concept, from the former General Store next to Powell’sMarket. So cute, and friendly service! Great coffees, breakfast items served hot from the local Belcross Biscuit place in Camden, homemade baked desserts and breads, craft beers, and more! Stopped in to meet…
This is a very new business, with long family ties and standing close by. It will certainly be a success. Beer, sodas, coffee, baked goods from local bakeries, and homemade fudge are just a few of the offerings. The do sell huge loaves of sourdough bread, as well.
