Homage Coffee House

Crema's Take
“Homage Coffee House is a cozy historic gem where owners Michael and Melissa have created a genuinely welcoming community space that feels like visiting friends rather than grabbing coffee. Beyond their excellent traditional espresso drinks, they're known for creative specialty beverages like their standout strawberry matcha and pistachio hot chocolate, paired with thoughtful light fare like green chili pork tamales that keep locals coming back. The warm, comforting atmosphere speaks for itself—this is the kind of place where you'll linger over a slow coffee and feel the care that goes into every detail.”

Nothing more i can say about this place and its owners!! You can sense the community when you walk in the front door of the coziest historic coffee house. Walking in makes you feel as if you are at your own home. Warm welcomes, delicious coffee, matcha, and dont get me started on their dulces omg. love. siempre
Fantastic morning coffee (or tea/matcha 😉) & pastries! Best in Phx area! Owners Michael & Melissa & staff are SO friendly & welcoming!
Saw this hidden place in passing and decided to try it out. Walking in, you could automatically feel how nice and comforting the atmosphere is. I decided to try their green tea and their pistachio chocolate croissant caught my eye, so I had to try that as well. I definitely loved the tea and that croissant was amazing! My daughter got their Honeycomb Toffee Chocolate iced latte and their concha. She automatically fell in love with the coffee and said that she could taste their coffee and it was not overly sweet. The concha was also good, it was soft and you could tell it was made fresh. For a small and modern place, I would definitely recommend coming here to relax and get away from one's hectic life. I for sure will be coming back again to try some of their other drinks and pastries.
The past few months have been brutal for many businesses across the U.S, but small, independent shops like Homage have carried an especially heavy load. This beloved coffee shop has weathered more than its fair share of challenges from illness and personal hardship to rising costs, supply issues, and the ongoing struggle to keep up with a rapidly shifting economy. Despite all of it, the family behind Homage has continued to show up with kindness, warmth, and an unshakable passion for what they do. They’ve made difficult decisions..ones that weren’t always easy or popular, adding dairy milk back to the menu after being proudly dairy-free for years was one of those difficult decisions. Every choice has been made with care, thoughtfulness, and a deep respect for their patrons and their community. What stands out most is their unwavering commitment to inclusion, compassion, and quality. Homage isn’t just a coffee shop. It’s a home built on passion and love. It’s one of those rare places that carries both a mission and a soul, and the people behind it continue to set a powerful example of resilience and integrity. Even in the hardest times, they create space for joy, connection, and Damn Good Coffee! I truly hope Homage stays open for years to come. It's one of the few places that makes this state feel like home, honestly, it's part of what keeps me here in Arizona. ❤️ Update2 I am pleasantly surprised to find out today that they widened the offering to include whole milk for the non-vegan patrons too. I can tell they have made a careful decision and prepared throughout the kitchen to separate and make sure there is no cross contamination between vegan and non-vegan ingredients. I feel that this is a very significant and carefully thought out inclusive decision that will also cater to more people who are used to classic coffee experience. They care about their customers and we first hand can feel and taste it in their craft. I recommend this coffee house to everyone and once they try it they are completely hooked. (Small tip) It's also a perfect coffee shop to visit away from all the hustle and bustle of the events in the downtown Glendale, just a wonderful place to sit and relax and play some board games or listen to birds outside. There are small rooms inside for a team meeting or chat with friends or even just to enjoy solitary time reading books. Amazingly cozy 😍 --- Update 1: I've been enjoying their hot pastries, Brekkie bun and chorizo with my coffee (caramel toffee latte) daily. Brekkie bun is a breakfast bun with potatoes and veggie sausage, idk how they do it but it's amazing. Chorizo puff pastry is also full of flavor and the soy meat and seasoning, in a puff pastry blanketed like a empanada 🥟 it's so delicious!! I love how every single creation in their cafe is plant based and homemade like their syrups! I'm nowhere vegan, but their food and coffee tastes so rich and delicious! Big shout out to their small family business the owners Melissa, Mike, Yati, Livy ❤️ ------ Original: We dropped by expecting nothing, this was our first time trying the cafe. My coworker recommended this place. The cafe sits on a really beautiful area of historic downtown Glendale. There are lots of parking around this establishment to quickly run in and pick up morning treat and get back to work route. I chatted with the shop regarding membership questions the night before and when I walked in, they immediately knew me by face. I was pleasantly surprised. Melissa made us feel comfortable and was very welcoming. I got bourbon Brown sugar latte 🤤 and it is super smooth, foam is rich and incorporated throughout the body of coffee, it's well made. The coffee seem to be very low in acid too, making each sip very smooth. I love the apple puff pastry, I can see why they would run out of some of their pastries! I am happy to have found a local, family supported coffee shop that I can hang out every week ❤️☺️ A must place to visit if you are in the vicinity!
