Crema's Take

Three Ships roasts their own coffee right in Virginia Beach's vibrant Vibe district, turning out imaginative specialty drinks and approachable espresso that feel equally at home in a quick grab or a leisurely afternoon by the oceanfront. The space itself is a draw—cozy and thoughtfully designed with both indoor and outdoor seating that attracts real coffee enthusiasts rather than just tourists passing through, and their willingness to experiment with unique flavor combinations and milk alternatives means there's something unexpected waiting for you.

The shop is located in a beautiful location and close to oceanfront… the shop has a cozy vibe, has indoor and outdoor seating… they have very unique flavor combinations and has milk alternatives too… I got the drip coffee with milk foam… the barista recommended it and it’s the bestseller but I personally didn’t enjoy it… I felt a weird after taste.. pastries and food felt very pricey..!!

Cozy coffeehouse that’s not just tourist. In a really unique neighborhood, they roast their own coffee and they had some interesting concoctions, both cold and hot.

We really loved it. Like many other places in the Vibe district, the menu is pricey. However, in the case of this establishment, it is worth it in my opinion. They have a unique selection of coffees and drinks they make with those coffees, and the are as unique and balanced as the source of their drinks are. The baristas take particular care that the foam is just the right consistency and the taste components are in balance. All in all, it was the best coffee experience we have had outside of making it ourselves. They also have iced concoctions, snacks, cookies, muffins and sandwiches so you can get just about anything you want to round out the best cup of coffee in the oven. Highly recommended. There is also plenty of parking and many other unique shops in the area, and everything is handicap accessible.

Service was left to be desired. The lady staff was busy heating up someone's order, rather stood by the toaster oven and watch it heat up instead of multi tasking to take my order. Then came another customer who just picked up coffee. She took his order ahead of me. Instead of taking my order, she chatted a bit with the customer. After he left, she then was on the phone! Thankfully another staff coming from a break took my order. I ordered the brain killer (cold drink) which was good although wasn't served with maraschino cherry per the menu; and hot Brown sugar vanilla latte (which had to be redone to add the brown sugar syrup!) which was good. Ambiance is okay, hard to do work with music blasting but hey, to each his own!

Before returning home from the trip, I searched for a cafe on Google to buy coffee to drink while driving. There were a lot of 6~7 people at the checkout, but I didn't wait long. The female employee handled the order skillfully. We ordered strawberry latte 2, biscuit 1, and immediately changed the options a little to hot strawberry latte 1, ice a lessstrawberry latte 1, biscuit 2, and she handled it perfectly and quickly. The drinks came out quickly. The drinks and biscuits came out quickly, and I recommend both strawberry latte and biscuits because they are delicious. The last trip like me. I recommend you to buy coffee and biscuits before going back home. + It was also good that there were tables inside and outside.
