Crema's Take

Doppio Coffee House brings a cozy Amsterdam-inspired vibe to Chicago's coffee scene, with house-roasted espresso drinks that hit every note and an impressive lineup of open-faced toasts and in-house pastries that go far beyond the typical café fare. What really sets this spot apart is the thoughtful experience—table service, seasonal specialty drinks, and a genuine neighborhood feel that makes it perfect for lingering over a cortado or catching up with friends. The combination of robust, flavorful coffee and standout baked goods like their French toast muffins and chocolate pudding bread keeps regulars coming back.

I stopped at the Doppio Coffee House in Chicago, I absolutely loved it! I ordered the salmon open-face sandwich and it was incredible; fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is so cozy, perfect for relaxing with great food and coffee. The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, you can tell they truly love what they do and care about their guests. Their warm energy made the experience feel personal and memorable. I also tried their energy balls, and they were delicious, the perfect treat with my coffee. Highly recommend if you’re in the area! I’ll definitely be back.

Definitely catches your eye with its outside charm when you walk by. Has a little bit of an Amsterdam coffeehouse feel. The latte was tasty & they delivered it to your table (although you ordered at the counter, which was a nice touch). Only critique is that everything is a bit expensive! $4-5 for a single donut is a little ludicrous, am I right? They cost less than $0.65 to make one….there also were no prices on all the pastries, por que? This is 2025. All in all, I would definitely recommend & will come again.

Several baked goods options...including gluten free donuts. There are also several open-faced toasts. All the coffee options you should want with a robust coffee flavor. French toast muffin was really good. Top tasted more like a cinnamon donu and the rest was like a dense soaked bread. A very good bite! Service isn't very smiley but it is quick, efficient, and on point.

Cozy neighborhood coffee cafe with their own roasts, in house pastries, seasonal drinks, and some hot food offerings. Coffee was solid and the pastries were very good, especially the French toast muffins. The avocado toast was one of the best we've ever had across all of the shops we've been to. Staff were very friendly and there's patio space outside, weather permitting. Very worth your time to go to this one!
