Crema's Take
“Blacksmith strikes that rare balance between serious specialty coffee (they stock Greenway roasted beans) and a genuinely inviting neighborhood gathering spot, with a warm, effortlessly chill atmosphere that keeps people coming back. Beyond excellent espresso drinks, they've built a full breakfast and pastry program—think strawberry pancakes and house-made treats—plus standout matcha that appeals to non-coffee seekers, all served by genuinely kind staff in a surprisingly spacious space with private parking. It's the kind of place where you can linger over a slow pour-over with a friend, grab quality beans to take home, or just disappear into the low hum of conversation and excellent coffee smell.”

We're in Houston quite often and we're always looking for a place to buy roasted beans. We finally found a place to our liking- Blacksmith. Blacksmith offers Greenway roasted beans. We got a bag of roasted Guatemalan beans and it produced an excellent cup of coffee! To our surprise, when we bought a bag of beans we got a cup of coffee for free- bonus! Thank you, Blacksmith! Next time we're back in Houston, we will get our beans from Blacksmith. Blacksmith is definitely worth a visit, especially if you want to quality roasted and brewed coffee! By the way the blueberry muffin was very delectable!
Blacksmith has that vibe--the kind of effortlessly chill atmosphere that hits you the moment you step inside. Warm lighting, the low hum of conversation, and the incredible smell of fresh coffee and food drifting through the air create a space that feels both inviting and energizing. And floating through it all was the faint sound of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young in the background--soft, nostalgic, and absolutely perfect for the moment. We came in early for a football game, slightly hungover and desperately needing something comforting but quality--and Blacksmith absolutely delivered. This place just hits right when you need a reset. The team here is all smiles--genuine, attentive, and unmistakably kind. Their service is impeccable, the kind that makes you feel taken care of without ever feeling rushed. I ordered the Blacksmith bowl with an egg and a corridor, and shared one of their legendary biscuits. The bowl was vibrant, flavorful, and beautifully layered--comforting yet elevated in all the best ways. The egg added that perfect velvety richness, and the corridor was smooth, bright, and the exact kind of pick-me-up your body says "thank you" for. And that biscuit... buttery, warm, flaky perfection. From the ambiance to the aromas to the music to the service, everything at Blacksmith feels intentionally crafted. It was exactly what we needed, and we walked out feeling alive again. Already planning the next visit.
love the vibe, their matcha, their delicious food (the strawberry pancake & pastries) & great customer service. they get busy often but i appreciate the private lot. i really like their menu design. i think they redid their concept or something bc i remember it wasnt like this 10 years ago
Nice chill vibe for morning food in a good location with plenty of parkin. Staff are really nice and the coffee was spot on - no refills - and the food decent. They just don't know what over easy is on eggs.
Have always heard great things but we usually do breakfast and coffee at home. We popped in on a recent Saturday morning. The space is larger than I was expecting and had a nice merch selection upon entry. The woman behind the counter was friendly and helpful. My normal go to order is a bone dry cappuccino but I decided to try the competition cappuccino along with the yogurt and toasted granola. My husband got a drip coffee and the breakfast tacos. My cappuccino ended up being a little too sweet for me but I loved how it came with a side car espresso shot and my breakfast was a little heavy on the yogurt and light on granola. Overall this was a cute coffee shop but I find that I am happier in my own kitchen on a Saturday morning.
