Crema's Take

Charlie's Cafe earned devoted regulars with legitimately excellent hot link sandwiches and chai that compete with the best in San Francisco, but the real draw is the warm, genuinely friendly staff that makes every visit feel like catching up with old friends. The dog-friendly patio across from Precita Park is perfect for a casual weekend breakfast or lunch, and don't miss their Thursday evening pizza popups if you're in the neighborhood. This is a place with real character and heart—not designed for Instagram aesthetics, but built on the kind of hospitality that keeps people coming back every weekend.

What to expect

Strong matcha and tea selection. A slow-sit, outdoor seating spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast, pastries, and light food on the menu. Dog friendly. Family friendly.

I come here every weekend after taking my dog to the nearby park. The hot link sandwich is one of the best sandwiches ive ever had, and there's a lot of competition in the city. Charlie's food is legit, and it's a great spot to get in touch with local goings on.

Excellent sandwiches. Great spot near Precita Park. Friendly neighborhood vibe! Seating is decent but not the most cozy.

The coffee is great at Charlie’s. The sandwiches are great. The chai is great. But even more than that, Charlie and all the people who work there are warm and friendly and make my day better.

Fun , friendly proprietor . Nice place to relax across the street from serene precita park. Spring 2025 " Thursday evening pizza" - don't miss this weekly, family & kid friendly popup. Grab a slice of natty,s famous pie, top it off with a cold beer or glass of wine.

This is great place if you enjoy restaurants with character. Unfortunately, the bagel breakfast sandwich was just okay. The bacon was extremely thin. The cheese seems like low end cheddar cheese you’d buy at a super market. The bagel itself was alight. Nothing special. The owner…
