Vices & Spices From Around the World
3558 State St, Santa Barbara, CA
Crema's Take
“Vices & Spices is a beloved Santa Barbara institution that feels like a living room where regulars have been gathering for decades, where the staff remembers you and your family. Their self-serve coffee selection is genuinely exceptional and affordable, anchored by standout blends like the Obama blend, and they've built an equally impressive repertoire of teas and spices that customers order from across the country. It's the kind of unassuming neighborhood spot where dogs curl up under tables, pastries are always fresh, and the vibe is so genuinely warm that first-time visitors instantly understand why people come back for twenty years.”

SO COOL. Fantastic selection of self-serve coffee (DELICIOUS), great pastries, huge variety of tea. Got some great mango tea and matcha to take home. Very affordable and high quality. Lots of spices and tea accoutrements!!
One of my all-time favorite Santa Barbara local spots. I've been coming here for over 20 years. If you love coffee and you can't figure out what you want truly the Obama blend is very good. I went all out this time and ordered the Jamaican Blue mountain. Not inexpensive and well worth every sip.
It’s been a while since I checked this place out. It’s probably been years! They have some of the best coffee selections into selections in tbe 805! Their staff is absolutely personable and very down to earth - Ella and Miley are true alchemist at their craft. The place is super cozy and the vibe is much needed in today’s times. I really appreciate people who know how to carry authentic conversations and also maintain the balance of being professional and personable. Whoever ever hired these two is a blessing because both are really great at their craft. Keep up the great work you guys! Thank you for offering superior service and quality products! Looking forward to supporting more as time bolts. Keep up the great work you guys! #realdeal
Just an east coast girl who got hooked on their unique teas from just two west coast visits over the years. Just received my order and happy with the packaging and treating myself to the varied selection I purchased.
They don’t make coffee shops like this anymore. It’s a totally unassuming, friendly neighborhood hang where people bring their dogs and the staff asks about your mom or your kids. We stopped in during a weekend trip and at first I thought we’d accidentally walked into a souvenir shop. It turned out to have a wonderful selection of coffee, teas, and espresso drinks, along with a wonderful dose of local history. I hope this shop stays exactly how it is and for a very long time.
