Roma Bakery & Cafe

Crema's Take
“This Coral Gables institution blends Latino and Italian culinary traditions in a warmly lit space where the atmosphere and coffee genuinely shine, especially when you're welcomed by staff like Mariela who make you feel at home from the moment you walk in. While pastry quality seems inconsistent and service can be slow, the spot earns its loyal following for the fresh paninis, pleasant background music, and that familiar, relaxed vibe that keeps regulars coming back for the overall experience rather than expecting perfection.”

I wouldn’t normally waste my time to write a terrible review, however, the attendant was so incredible rude that the fellow patrons deserve to know. I ordered a pastelito de carne that was not good. It wasn’t terrible but wasn’t good. I let them know and the Young attendant told me « it’s not bad, you just don’t like it, but it’s not bad, it’s perfexr’y fine and fresh. ». I told them I didn’t want my money back but thought they should know. She continued giving attitude, so here is my review. Shame as that establishment has been there since I was a kid. I won’t go na k.
Just a fair warning, do not come here if you want to eat actual yummy pastries and if you don’t want to be robbed of your hard earned money. The pastries are not good, and especially not worth the price. Every single thing there is either almost $4 or over $4 and it doesn’t taste good. The empanadas are very very greasy for no reason. The only thing that was good was the señorita. Even if the pastries were half the price that they are, they did not make me want to come back and get them again because they’re just that bad. Then they over charge on taxes and add tourism tax and service fees and all this stuff, like since when did bakeries in Miami start doing this? You can get pastries that taste twice as good for less than half the price literally anywhere else. Worst part is if you sit at the bar, the clear coat sealant that was applied to the wood (seemingly many, many years ago) is stickier than a mouse trap and feels really gross. You’d think that with the prices as high as they are, they might actually invest a bit of it into resealing the wood. Note to the business: please don’t reply to this with the whole “lamentamos bla bla bla”… hagan el favor y no lamenten nada. Simplemente has las cosas mejor en vez de disculparte. Cobren por el actual valor que tiene su comida y su establecimiento en vez de vivir bajo la ilusión que valen más de lo que son. Muchísimas gracias.
This place is a very familiar vibe, Panini is tasty and fresh, and the ambiance is just perfect. The music is pleasant and relaxed. Coffee delicious, Mariela makes us feel welcome at the first moment, she's very attentive. We will come back for sure 100% recommended 👌
I have to be honest, it had been many years since the first (and last) time I eat at @romabakerymiami due to the incredibly painful slow service at the takeout window. In the last two weeks, I’ve heard nothing but good things about #romabakerymiami from my co-workers about the quality of the food and service. So, I decided to give it another try today after many years and I was not disappointed. Upon the recommendation of my co-workers I asked for the chicken bowl for dine-in lunch and it was absolutely amazing! I was quickly greeted and served and my food came out within five minutes. My bowl was spectacular, fresh, delicious and vey hot. The plantains were perfectly cooked and cilantro aioli was devine. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy inside, just perfect ! The bakery-restaurant has been nicely re-decorated and I can’t wait to come back and try other menu items.
Feb.14 me and my husband was looking for a place to have brunch and we try this place for first time thinking that he was a small café and we sat down. It was an actual fusion of Latino and Italian cuisine. The waitresses gave us a warm, welcome and set us down immediately. The music made the environment, so much more romantic; The service was great and all the food came out freshly cooked; Portion size are big enough to share, but we didn’t know and we couldn’t finish our food, Read the corner they have a book area for when you are waiting for your food to arrive. The place is full of wines from all over the world Food camera rather quickly, and the cappuccino order was perfect. I have some scrambled eggs over French toast and house potatoes, which were perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked; my husband, in the other hand had fried eggs and french fries, which also came season sausage and bacon. Our waitress Jessica was taking care of us the whole time making sure that we have water that our food was perfectly cooked and anything that we need issues there for us even the chef came out and access. How was the food and if there’s anything we need that for us service was excellent cleanliness of the restaurant is 10/10; A very welcoming environment and overall a great experience. We will come back again soon To try their lunch menu, the pasta selection looks delicious.
