Ruby's New York Style Bagels

Crema's Take

Ruby's nails the New York bagel experience that locals crave, with properly chewy, substantial bagels that taste authentically crafted rather than doughy—though quality and service seem frustratingly inconsistent depending on when you visit. The shop thrives as a bustling breakfast destination where you can grab creative bagel sandwiches, smoothies, and full breakfast spreads in a family-friendly atmosphere that captures that busy NYC deli energy. Just know that popularity doesn't always translate to consistency here, and prices have climbed noticeably, so manage expectations accordingly.

Had a sun dried tomato bagel with bacon scallion cream cheese and a strawberry banana smoothie. Place was pretty busy, but the service was fast and top notch! Would definitely come back.

I grew up in NY bagels were a staple in our home. Ruby's is definitely on par with these NY bagels. The size and taste are right and they are NOT doughy.. The sandwich I had was nice sized and not skimpy. The coffee was good. And it all made for an enjoyable meal.

These are definitely New York style bagels. The customer service was -0. The bagel was incredible — truly New York–style and worth the hype. But the customer service was rough. There were four employees up front, two registers, and only one person actually helping the line. The other two stood behind a pole talking while customers waited. The fourth look like she was working on to go orders.I stood there for several minutes with no acknowledgment, even though the place was almost empty. It felt disorganized and unprofessional, and it was obvious only two of the four girls were doing the work. Amazing bagel… but the front-end service needs serious attention.

I went in at 9am yesterday and this place was packed, so I was hopeful it would be good . $17 later—worst bagel I’ve ever had. It was impossible to eat. The bagel was tough and rubbery. It was over flowing with cream cheese and capers, and lacking locks and onion. Disappointing and overpriced. If the bagel was good I wouldn’t even complain about the absurd price—but it was bizarre and awful.

Will NEVER be going here again. Besides the fact that many of their menu items have actually doubled in price in 2 years, I spent $40 for 1 large drip coffee ( the outside was covered in some sticky mess), a medium cappuccino, a sausage egg and cheese and a ham and Swiss, both on bagels. $16 for a few slices of ham and Swiss on a bagel with some bargain ripples chips!? I actually ordered a ham egg and Swiss, but they got my order wrong and it was too packed and chaotic to try and correct anything, I will just not be returning or recommending. The actual bagel was decent but definitely not the best in the area and not worth the $$$. They were more like the bagels you get from the grocery store bakery. Very disappointed.
