Crema's Take

Black Café captures that coveted big-city coffee shop energy right in Lafayette, with locally roasted espresso and a menu where every bite tastes genuinely homemade—from their legendary sausage croissants to creative handheld breakfast items like their signature pork-wrapped egg rolls. The chill vibe and attentive staff make it equally perfect for lingering over a laptop or grabbing an unforgettable breakfast sandwich before hitting the road, and at under five dollars for a loaded croissant, it's a steal.

This was another place recommended by my sister. I must say I was quite impressed! The atmosphere was pretty chill with good music, and it had big city cafe vibes. The menu is pretty easy to understand. I got the BLT with sweet potato fries and a sweet tea. The BLT was delicious with a decent amount of bacon. The sweet potato fries were AMAZING!! I asked for just a sprinkle of sugar and it was the perfect amount. The sweet tea was good as well. Next time I'd like to try their famous Scotch eggs!! 😉

Black Cafe has a wonderful breakfast and lunch selection, along with great customer service. The staff is always kind and helpful. If you don't know what you are feeling for lunch this week. Give them 15 minutes of your time and you will have a great experience. Thank you to the staff at Black Cafe for offering delicious lunches and a wonderful place to take a break downtown.

Absolutely phenomenal breakfast. The sausage on the croissant sandwich was out of this world and was a huge piece with two eggs and cheese for less than $5. The coffee is locally roasted and is great. The service is great. The space is clean and has good parking and is fast if you’re in a hurry. Counter serve and drive thru. Locally owned and the owner took my order. I wish there were places like this everywhere I go but that would make it way less special

We stopped here on our way back to Texas. Everything was homemade. We had the breakfast sandwich, sausage biscuits, and beignets. They were all yummy. Great little place to stop.

I got the pork perfection. It was a egg wrapped and pork sausage deep-fried it was absolutely delicious. I don’t know why more places don’t sell them personally and I’ve never thought about doing that I also got the beignets. They were hands-down the best ones I’ve ever ate and me and my friends go to New Orleans often there was a mixup with my coffee. I was supposed to have a large the gentleman run me a small let me go ahead and have that one and then went back and made my large grateful for the 4 Hour Dr. I have to go home. I definitely recommend this place for brunch or breakfast?
