Main Street Shawarma

Really great customer service at this place in addition to tasty food. I can honestly say I've never received such great customer service from any other business in Virginia Beach. I have gone in here not knowing what I want, to having employees happy and eager to help suggest what to put on my shawarma. And they weren't wrong. Their suggestions tasted great! I have been treated like I matter, or that me liking their food matters to them. They care that I am pleased with my order. They have also occasionally handed me and other customers a free 'taste test' of a falafel ball with sauce on it, but they make it personal by handing it to you without you even asking and saying, "This is for you." How nice!! And their falafel tastes great, too! You know I never leave tips at places where the employees don't work for less than minimum wage and their salaries aren't partly dependent on tips, but I leave tips at this place because the service is awesome. I highly recommend! The only con for me was the atmosphere. The 'cafeteria-style' atmosphere seems to be what's trending these days, but I don't like it. It's cold, hard, uninviting, and reminds me of a cafeteria, lol.

Awesome, fresh, tasty middle eastern food with quick and friendly service! I had a chicken shawarma bowl that was about $17, but it was a huge portion and everything was really fresh and healthy. It came with a pita, which was so fluffy and soft. If I lived locally this would be a regular spot in the rotation. The staff were very friendly, smiling, answered my questions and gave me a sample of the falafel, which was amazing as well. Overall I had an A+ experience for take out dinner.

I absolutely love this place. The food is amazing and the staff so kind and incredible. My problem is what you pay for. I love the falafel bowl, it used to provide 2 meals for me. It used to come in a huge deep round container. Now, it’s barely a lunch portion, it comes in a small, shallow container (smaller than chipotle bowl) that comes less than half full. Today my order contained a spoonful of rice, zero chickpeas and the rest was cabbage. The bowls have only increased in price. I know this is the way of the world. But we have to become selective with where we spend our change now and the exchange here is no longer a good value. I am genuinely hoping things change soon because I do sincerely love this place!!! The food is SO GOOD! If you can afford it, get it! (The attached photo is prior to any eating.)

I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Mr Shawarma Virginia Beach this past weekend. The staff on shift (Moses and Anthony) alongside the manager (Melissa) were extremely friendly, welcoming, and patient as I took my time familiarizing myself with the menu. Once I did order, the portions were extremely generous for a very fair price, and the food was tasty. I decided to eat at the restaurant, and was impressed at the cleanliness of the dining area. Would highly recommend a visit if you're in the area and craving some Shawarma!

Great second location here in VA Beach, it's a new building so everything is clean and very inviting. The food is the same as the Norfolk location, always fresh and hot. The falafel are amazingly soft and moist on the inside with a nice crunch on the outside. You can't go wrong with any of their meats for the shawarma, I always get the beef, lamb, and chicken mix. It's a simple menu, easy to understand and order from even if it's your first time. The staff are very polite and helpful so you won't feel pressured. They take their time to answer any questions. Highly recommend!
