Crema's Take
“This isn't really a coffee destination in the traditional sense—it's a spiritual retreat center in Joshua Tree where the cafe serves as a peaceful gathering spot between yoga classes, meditation sessions, and visits to the famous Wind Phone installation. The real appeal here is slow, intentional time in a genuinely serene setting with excellent vegan options and genuinely warm staff, making it perfect if you're already committed to spending half a day exploring the grounds rather than grabbing coffee on the go. Come for the architecture and art, stay for the sense that you've actually stepped away from the world.”
What to expect
Classic coffee drinks done right. A slow-sit, outdoor seating spot, good for meetings.

See all on Google →We really enjoyed the architecture and art installations. Yoga and meditation appear to be the staples of this facility. There is a nice gift shop.
Experience calmness of this place. We discovered that the Campbell Wind Phone has been relocated here.
Beautiful, zen, and peaceful. The institute offers Saturday morning yoga and sound healing. After the session, you can enjoy the pool and hot tub. A perfect way to begin any weekend.
Love having the 29 Palms Certified Farmers Market at The JT Retreat Center every Wednesday and Sunday from 8 am to 1 pm. So many wonderful vendors. So much great and tasty food to get too.
This place is incredible. Beha's warm hug before the yoga class and Brenda's friendliness at the cafe were exactly what I needed on a rainy day. Oh and they have amazing vegan options! They have just egg so you know it's awesome. Highly recommend stopping and I would love to…
