Kangaroo Coffee - Hillside

Crema's Take

Tucked into a charming Hillside neighborhood near Prospect Lake, this spot strikes that rare balance between a serious coffee destination and a genuinely welcoming hangout space, complete with board games, cozy couches, and a dedicated work area that keeps both laptop warriors and lingerers happy. Their creative specialty drinks—think Mexican mochas and signature creations like the hopscotch coffee—are crafted with real care and restraint on the sweetness, while their oversized bagels and bonfire burritos prove they take their food seriously too. The staff's warmth and the thoughtfully curated menu (big enough to explore without overwhelming you) make this the kind of neighborhood gem that locals and visitors alike keep coming back for.

The staff was very kind and the atmosphere was cute. You can sit at a table or couch and play board games. There's also a separate work area. The bagels were large and delicious. It is walking distance from a park, so you can grab coffee and go sit in the park to enjoy. Highly recommend.

Great little coffee shop. We had a Mexican mocha (could have been a bit spicier) which was great and the hopscotch coffee which wasn’t too sweet (greatly appreciated!). We had the bonfire burritos (which are outsourced) and they were very good. We had the vegetarian and the vegan ones-each were great, the vegan Bon-asaurus had more of a kick which I loved.

First time in CO Springs and will be checking this place out again. I liked that the menu was big enough to have a good amount of options but it wasn’t overwhelming. They can also make cold foam in any flavor! The color changing straws were a fun surprise!
