Crema's Take

This cozy Anchorage spot pulls espresso shots with real precision, earning consistent praise for lattes that rival some of the best in the city. The connected bakery setup creates an inviting atmosphere perfect for both quick caffeine runs and lingering conversations, though fair warning that the quality comes at a premium price. Friendly baristas and thoughtful touches like seasonal drinks make it worth seeking out if you're serious about your coffee.

Great coffee, but the pricing is disappointing Little Sister Espresso makes an excellent latte, the shot they pulled for my 16oz latte was perfect. However, the pricing took me by surprise. My drink came out to $6.25, which already felt high, and then I realized they added an extra $0.25 charge just because it was in a to-go cup. There’s no seating inside Little Sister itself, and from what I can tell it’s a completely separate business from Fire Island Bakery. If you want to stay and drink your coffee, you’re expected to sit inside Fire Island, which feels a bit odd, considering they’re a different business I think. The extra cup fee just doesn’t make sense to me. It’s a standard biodegradable paper cup, not some specialty container that costs a quarter per piece. Between the unexpected surcharge and the lack of their own seating, it left a bad taste in an otherwise great drink experience. Unfortunately, that extra charge came out of what I would have tipped. Great coffee, but the nickel-and-diming makes it hard to justify coming back regularly.

I came here for a plain latte one morning and it was perfection. I've been to many coffee shops in Anchorage, and I can count on a couple fingers how many can match this quality. They had some seasonal drinks, too. I have no doubt any espresso drink is worth worth trying here. This place is a great partner with Fire Island Bakery. Pair your coffee with breakfast/lunch/pastry from the best bakery in Anchorage (imho) right across from this shop and enjoy the sitting space!

Small cafe directly and openly connected to rustic island bakery. Has some local products on sale as well.

Little Sister Espresso in Anchorage is an absolute gem! It was such a blast stopping by and meeting the amazing baristas—they were incredibly friendly and timed our Sipping Streams Jasmine Green Tea perfectly. I highly recommend making this a stop on your coffee or tea run. Their local Homer-roasted coffee is top-notch, and I love that they serve Sipping Streams Tea from Fairbanks. Great drinks, great people, and a truly welcoming vibe!
