New World Cafe
5900 Duraleigh Rd, Raleigh, NC
Crema's Take
“New World Cafe is an espresso-focused spot where single-origin cortados and quality house coffee are taken seriously, making it perfect for both a quick caffeine fix and lingering work sessions over a laptop. The food hits above typical cafe standards—think fresh breakfast bagel sandwiches, avocado toast with egg, and sandwiches like the Return of the Turkey that locals genuinely rave about. Fair warning: show up close to closing time at your own risk, but during normal hours this is exactly the kind of neighborhood gem where Raleigh newcomers find their reliable coffee and workspace in one place.”

A bit rude and nonchalant. Apparently if you show up 20 minutes before closing time, the solo two employees will ignore you for 15 minutes and then tell you the kitchen is closed. Would be nice to put a sign up, or acknowledge the only customer there and give a heads up in a polite way. One kept sweeping around me, and the other kept glancing from the coffee station without a word. Weird.
Highly recommend for a variety of quality coffee options. Enjoyed a breakfast bagel sandwich along with great coffee. The cortado was made with a flavorful single origin coffee. Their house coffee was well balanced and I opted for a pour over of a co-ferment to go. First sip was delicious. Friendly ownership/staff.
We ordered a lavender latte, fruit parfait, drip coffee, avocado toast with egg on top and a bacon egg cheddar everything bagel. Food was great and fresh. Servers brought the food to our table, we did everything else. Not sure a base level tip of $8 at 15% is worth just bringing us the food we ordered. But everyone was nice. The tables had old crumbs and several seats had rips with duct tape over them. I would come back. But on a side note, tipping is out of control in this country and really needs to be dialed back.
After a quick visit to the Wake County Public Library (5800 Duraleigh Road off Hwy 70), we enjoyed an unplanned FIVE-STAR brunch at New World Café, just steps from the library. The iced coffee and cappuccino, made with Counter Culture beans, were top-shelf, and we shared the bacon–egg–avocado–tomato sandwich along with the French toast entrées. The fresh-from-the-oven brownies also caught my eye—perfect to bag for an afternoon pick-me-up. Note: The library sits in the strip center, while New World Café is a free-standing building in the parking lot (see photo). Easy to find. Enjoy!
I love this café! ☕️💻 I'm new in Raleigh and it's hard finding a good spot to work and get a great coffee. Their sandwich was really good. I had the Return of the Turkey and it was so yummy! 🥪😍 The coffee was amazing and let me tell you, I'm very picky with my coffee but they really know how to make a good one. 👏 The customer service is top-notch and they truly make you feel at home. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. 🫶 Overall, if you’re looking for a place to work, grab a bite, and enjoy a great cup of coffee, check them out.
