Crema's Take
“Pershing Cafe is a serene Austin retreat with a genuinely welcoming vibe that invites you to linger—perfect for sketching, reading, or just existing peacefully with excellent coffee in hand. The thoughtful touches (dog treats at the counter, a cozy layout with perfect lighting, a charming patio) show this team cares about the full experience, and their almond milk lattes and fresh caprese sandwiches make it easy to stay a while longer.”

When this spot was Greater Goods I enjoyed it but ever since it changed the staff is not friendly or knowledgeable about coffee. The baristas were rude when I asked about recommendations. Specifically the barista with blonde short hair. They were not helpful and seemed like they knew nothing about coffee. They seemed irritated the entire time and said "this isn't Starbucks" when I simply asked if they had anything similar to a shaken espresso. Matter fact none of the baristas seemed like they were happy, it was like they all hated talking to people.. the whole point is to make it a welcoming atmosphere. It's still a cute spot but for the service and 4 latte options it's not worth it anymore. Coffee selection is low and the menu is mostly alcoholic drinks now. Seems to be converting to a bar music club vibe, restrooms really reflect that. It's very dirty and there was no paper or soap. It's also overpriced, a $10 coffee the size of a water cup.
Love this place! I ordered an a almond milk, vanilla latte and it was so good! I also ordered one of their caprese sandwhiches and I thought it was going to be a hot sandwich, but said it was a cold sandwich, which was sort of interesting… It was edible, but not my favorite. I’m definitely gonna have to come back and visit since it’s been a minute.
I tried this place the other day with a couple of friends. It's a really cute coffee shop and I enjoyed the patio. They are dog friendly and even have a jar with dog treats. My dog enjoyed his treat and lounging on the patio. I had an iced matcha latte and a pistachio cookie. They both tasted great. Service was good as well. I'll definitely be back soon!
Absolutely loved our time here. The lighting is perfect for reading/drawing, and the layout made our experience cozy. The employees there are very welcoming and kind, they answered all my questions regarding the food on the menu and went in depth on what makes each dish stand out (out of the few items I was looking at and debating on getting). I am normally not a tomato person but their tomato sandwich stood out and I did not regret my choice. Their "Pinocchio" sandwhich was good, personally I would recommend it if you want something on the sweeter side as the pistachio flavor can be a bit overpowering. From my understanding their menu is constantly rotating: if you look up a picture of it online make sure to check how recently it was posted to avoid being disappointed. Plenty of parking and lots of seating both inside and out.
Pershing has a calm, peaceful vibe that I really appreciate—especially because I can be a bit chaotic myself. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down, take a breath, and just be for a while.. it’s the kind of calm, peaceful space that makes it easy to get work done It’s perfect for students or anyone working remotely. really liked the interior—it’s spacious, minimal, and has a beautiful design that makes it easy to focus and relax. The interior is beautifully designed—very open, minimal, and thoughtfully put together. The parking lot is big too, which is a huge plus for East Austin. Next time I visit, I want to try one of their pastries—they looked super good. The staff was friendly, and the overall atmosphere was really pleasant. Since I’m often in East Austin, this spot is super convenient, and I’ll definitely be going back.
