Charmers Cafe

Charmers Cafe has atmosphere in abundance. From the moment you walk in, the space wraps around you. Ornate ceilings, warm lighting, plants reaching toward the patterned tiles above, and those brilliant swing chairs that add a playful edge without feeling gimmicky. It is funky in the best sense. Creative, relaxed and full of personality. The environment is genuinely beautiful. A place where you can sit with a laptop, meet a friend, or just take five minutes to look up at the ceiling and appreciate the details. There is care in the design and it shows. Service was warm and attentive without hovering. You feel welcomed rather than processed. And the coffee is top notch. Rich, balanced and clearly made by people who take pride in what they serve. Not an afterthought to the decor. The standard matches the setting. This is the kind of cafe that makes you want to come back, not just for caffeine, but for the feeling of the place itself. A proper windy city standout.

I genuinely love this cafe. The atmosphere is great, and the drinks and food are consistently delicious. It’s a place I want to keep coming back to. That said, we’ve visited five times now, and on three of those visits, part of our order was forgotten. That’s more than half the time, which is concerning. What’s especially frustrating is that it hasn’t been isolated to one area - it’s happened at different points in the process. On one visit, the barista forgot one of our drinks. On another, the kitchen missed two of our meals. Most recently, the cashier never put in our toasted bagel. Each time, we’ve had to go back up and ask about missing items. I truly enjoy this cafe, but at this point I don’t feel confident that we’ll receive everything we ordered unless we double-check. It seems like there may be a breakdown in how orders are tracked or communicated between staff, especially since different team members were involved each time. I’m sharing this because I really do like this place and want it to succeed. I hope management can look into the order process so the overall experience matches the quality of the food and atmosphere.

Cute cafe with amazing atmosphere. Lots of students working with their laptops. Food was just all right, but this place would make a great study spot.

I was walking around and found this awesome place. I bought a beautiful plant, ordered the Chicken Tinga which was delicious, sweet and savory. The bread was soft and toasted to perfection. The brussel sprouts had a clean lightly seasoned taste and was soo tender. I'm bringing my daughters for brunch, they are 25 and 20 years old and would love this place. It has a natural and comfortable feel to it with beautiful plants. I even enjoyed the music there. These are the things that makes me appreciate life when there's so much going on in this world. I had the most delightful experience the other morning felt so welcomed and I got everything I wanted. The bagel with cream cheese my favorite is always sesame they were ou but I got plain and it was toasted to perfection so good I also order vanilla ice cream and a peanut butter banana smoothie for my husband. Thank you Charmers. Lived the Halloween 👻 decor.
