Campesino Coffee House

Crema's Take
“This Houston gem feels like stepping into a friend's living room, where the coffee happens to be exceptional and the menu celebrates Central American heritage with touches you won't find elsewhere—think café de olla served in charming mugs, tamales pisques, and creative spiced drinks like the Maya Mocha. The vibe is distinctly cozy and quirky, drawing regulars who come for the slow, unhurried experience as much as the thoughtfully crafted beverages and light bites like yucca fries.”

My favorite coffee spot! As a Salvadoran-American, I appreciate that they serve tamales pisques, as they can be rare even in Salvadoran restaurants. 💙 (I’m not sure why they’re served with hot sauce, though) Also, please have all “for here” coffee be served in a mug and not a to-go cup. Small thing, but worth mentioning for sustainability reasons.
It's good coffee. I had the cafe de olla the first time I came. It was pretty good and it comes in a cute mug. It's like going to someone's home for coffee and snacks. Very comfy vibes a lot of couches and arm chairs.
Visited this place twice while visiting Houston. The coffee is amazing and it's cozy inside. First time we got the Maya Mocha which had a satisfying spice to it. Second visit we got the café de olla and Campesino café con leche with oat milk. I'm going to be daydreaming about this place.
Today I traveled to Campesino Coffee for the first time after I left FLATS Film lab down the road. I come from Kemah, Texas so I decided to try somewhere in Houston for my coffee fix and Campesino Coffee seemed cozy. To my suprise I was greeted by a friendly customer, and they have parking that wasn’t on the street available. As I approached inside it was more cozy of an environment than I expected. I loved the glassware for the hot & cold drinks. They definitely go with the aesthetic that the owner is achieving. I also love how traditional their menu is to a different culture. It’s different which is nice. I had the Horchata Latte w/ Horchata oat milk and it was lovely. Not to sweet and not to strong. I also had their tamales but they weren’t my cup of tea. I wanted to try something new. It’s nothing on there end! Last but not least they have a nice outdoor area with shading, and nice seats that are comfortable. Including plants. I just wish the plants were more lively not dead haha. All in all 10/10 a great experience with lovely coffee.
Got pumpkin lattes with oat milk, was so tasty! Very quirky place, my friend had the yucca fries w/ bean tamale. Looked tasty will try that next visit. Overall atmosphere of cafe is chill and quirky and homey. Very comfy. Bring earplugs or headphones if you wanna focus or study. Would come again! 😀
