Crema's Take

Red Dog Coffee is a quirky, art-filled gathering spot in Manitou Springs where espresso drinks are taken seriously and the plant-draped walls feel like a creative sanctuary (yes, the cat on the sign adds to the charm). Whether you're fueling up before a Pikes Peak adventure or settling in for a leisurely breakfast burrito and expertly-crafted coffee, the genuinely warm staff and welcoming dog-friendly vibe make this the kind of place where you'll find yourself coming back the same day. The cheddar bacon sandwiches and hearty breakfast offerings pair perfectly with their espresso-focused menu, making it ideal for both quick caffeine hits and lingering conversations.

We stopped here for breakfast before taking the train to Pikes Peak and we ended up coming back after the train to grab more coffee. The cheddar bacon sandwhich was really good and very filling! Their drip coffee is good. On the second visit I got an iced vanilla latte and it was good! They have a lot of coffee flavors to choose from and a ton of pastry options as well. Excited to try the cinnamon roll I bought, it looks delicious!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Walking into Red Dog Coffee in Manitou Springs feels like stepping into a vibrant story—one where you’re the main character. Picture this: you're greeted by friendly smiles, the aroma of expertly brewed coffee, and a space filled with warmth and creativity. It’s a place for the dreamers, the wanderers, and anyone who’s ever craved a moment of connection. But Red Dog isn’t just about great coffee (though, trust me, the coffee is next-level good). It’s like an eclectic treasure chest waiting to be discovered. They have plants that make your soul happy, stunning local artwork adorning the walls, and unique gems for sale that are perfect for gifting—or better yet, keeping for yourself. Everywhere you look, there’s something that sparks joy or inspires you. And the vibe? It's effortlessly cool without trying too hard. The kind of place that makes you feel at ease, like you belong there, no matter where you're from. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick espresso or cozying up with a book on their couch, you’ll leave feeling like your day just got a little brighter because of this place and the people in it. Red Dog Coffee doesn’t just sell coffee—they create an experience. And let me tell you, that’s something worth FIVE stars every time.

I am not entirely sure why this place is called the Red Dog when its sign has a picture of a cat, but that is very much in line with the overall weird and artsy atmosphere of this place, which is very distinctly Manitou. There is quite a profusion of nerd and geek culture here, and Star Wars fans will certainly not be disappointed. The food is excellent for those wanting a nice hearty meal after wandering through the lovely streets of Manitou. I personally greatly enjoyed the Sergeant Pepper's burrito, a name that I hope conveys the general tone and the atmosphere of this place. It's irreverent in a smart way, and it seems quite welcoming.

Stopped by Red Dog Coffee in Manitou Springs for a light lunch and caffeine boost, and it didn’t disappoint! The menu offers a great variety of breakfast, lunch, drinks, and sweet treats. We ordered lattes, a Turkey Guac sandwich, and a Southwestern Bagel Sandwich—perfect fuel before our trip up Pikes Peak. While waiting, we enjoyed browsing the selection of magnets, house plants, coffee cups, and cards. The barista quickly prepared our drinks, and though the sandwiches took a bit longer since they’re made fresh, it was well worth it. We chose to sit outside and savor the nice weather. The food and drinks hit the spot, and it’s easy to see why this place is a local favorite!
