Crema's Take
“Black Canvas Coffee is a LA breakfast destination where the kitchen takes real care with fresh ingredients—think perfectly poached eggs on crispy avocado toast and buttery croissants that pair beautifully with their smooth espresso. The space itself draws people in for lingering conversations, though their creative matcha lattes and signature drinks suggest they're not just riding on coffee reputation. While service can be inconsistent and prices run high, the combination of thoughtful food, solid coffee craft, and that welcoming ambiance keeps people coming back.”

It was a great breakfast, very fresh and filling, with good ingredients; deliscious green salad, a crispy toast with avocado and poched egg, and an omlette with spinach, mashrooms and cheese, with salad and avocado. Good coffee and matcha. Very recommendable - especially in the area, where there is nothing healthy in a walking area.
Super great customer service! My avocado toast and blueberry matcha latte were delicious! I'll be back again before my trip is over I'm sure
The coffee is good, the service is horrible. I have been here a few times and although overpriced, I really enjoy the coffee and ambiance, but this last time was my final time supporting this establishment. There is a guy that works there who is always so rude, not welcoming, and straight up gives off bad vibes. He does not welcome you when you walk in, he does not respond when you tell him thank you, and he acts like it’s an inconvenience making the very product that they sell, coffee. He also yelled at us as soon as we walked up about not being able to order food because they stopped serving food, but I wasn't even interested in food, just the same latte I always get (or used to get). It is a shame that bad service is going to deter my business but there are way too many good coffee shops in the area to support someone who is not happy to be there.
My husband and I went to try this place for breakfast, and we were pleased with our overall experience. We have ordered: 2 Espresso Plain Omelette with Toast & Butter Ham and Cheese Omelette with Toast & Butter Total:$43.45 with tips When we asked if they had the hot menu, the lady said that they usually start at 9 a.m., but she could prepare it for us. We ordered about 10 minutes before 9 a.m. We were very happy that we could order the omelet. The waiting time was decent. We really enjoyed the coffee flavor and the food as well, though it can be too pricey.
At Black Canvas Coffee, the experience is simply exceptional. The croissants they offer are nothing short of amazing – buttery, flaky, and simply irresistible. Paired with their smooth, expertly brewed coffee, it's a match made in heaven. Each sip and bite is a moment of pure indulgence, leaving you craving more. Whether you're looking for a quick breakfast on the go or a leisurely coffee break, Black Canvas Coffee has you covered. With their delicious croissants and smooth coffee, they've truly mastered the art of a perfect morning.
