Crema's Take

This espresso-focused spot shines when you settle in for the full experience—think ceramic cups of beautifully executed cappuccinos dusted with cinnamon and those glorious southeast-facing windows that transform a cold day into something special. The cozy, window-lit atmosphere draws regulars back for both the solid coffee and surprisingly strong food offerings (gluten-free options included), though fair warning that the kitchen moves at its own pace and cleanup could use attention during busy hours. If you're looking for a genuine sit-down coffeehouse moment rather than a quick grab-and-go, this Brooklyn gem delivers the kind of warmth and quality that keeps people coming back.

I usually go to other nearby coffee shops, but once in while stop in Milk bar. Had a sit down cappuccino in a ceramic cup sprinkled with Cinnamon and brought out to me. Coffee is really good. I didn’t have any food so can’t comment on that. The only downside so far is the bankers hours - early morning commuters have to skip this place in addition to those wanting a late afternoon coffee due to the narrow time frame of open hours.

Coffee is great here but that’s about it…the food takes 30-45 mins to arrive. Overall messy and they have 5-6 people working here but they just either text or gossip with each other instead of clean up the place. The best part is they are asking for a tip but yet I’m being asked to put away my plates and dishes…how does that make sense….?? Also it’s not cozy at all — a lot of extra bulk products out on the floor and makes the place look like a whole sell coffee mart.

One of my favorite coffeehouse experiences is sitting inside at Milk Bar on a frigid winter day with the sun pouring through the southeast facing floor-to-ceiling windows, warming my face. The corner front patio is delightful in the summer. I'm a drip coffee guy and the coffee here is really good, consistent and balanced. I've come here occasionally over the years and love the full egg breakfast. The toasted bread is delicious and, though seemingly expensive, it's a filling meal and costs far less than a breakfast at a sit-down restaurant. I've had many perfectly cooked eggs, and one undercooked, runny mess. It's actually amazing how much delicious food the tiny kitchen can crank out. Occasional mistakes are understandable. Overall, the service ranges from polite to friendly, but on rare occasions indifferent, and once, flat out rude. In reading the reviews, it appears the owner is making Herculean efforts to run a small business with exorbitant food and labor costs. Kudos to them for trying to run the best business possible and for responding thoughtfully to each review.

At this point me and my friend are regulars here. Every food item we tried is amazing. The coffee is amazing too. They have gluten free options which is great, and just the most cozy atmosphere both inside and out in the small patio. Will be coming back again and again to have anything from here really!

Overall great place for lunch. I love their BLAT sandwich but they switched the bread from ciabatta to dry burger buns! :( other than that it was tasty as usual. Also a bit suprised they don’t do more with their sunny outdoor space but it has tables and chairs.
