Crema's Take

This veteran-owned coffee shop brings a welcoming, patriotic energy to the Pigeon Forge area, with a team largely composed of military veterans who genuinely care about their customers. Their menu goes beyond the basics with creative specialty drinks like the 1776 alongside traditional espresso drinks, making it easy to find something that feels special whether you're a coffee purist or looking to try something new. It's the kind of place where families linger in a genuinely warm atmosphere, and while you might occasionally encounter an off interaction, the overall experience keeps people coming back.

I was interested in trying a new place for coffee recently and Black Rifle Coffee Company did not disappoint. Veteran founded by a former Army Green Beret and operated largely by veterans who they want to help transition from service to entrepreneurship. They have a reputation that proceeds them for great coffee, strong work ethic and excellent service and mission. I asked for a recommendation and ended up trying one of their classic lattes, the 1776. Their menu has many American-themed names, including The Liberty Bell and The Betsy Ross Lattes, which I plan to go back and try soon. They approach the names of their vast wholesale coffee subscription service with the same American forward pride, with the latest January release called ‘Benjamin the Bell Cracker’ according to their website. Their commitment to serve up coffee and culture to people who love America is evident in all they do. The inside of the shop is part gift, drinkware and apparel, part wholesale coffee and energy drink to go selection and part coffee shop. However, they also have monthly sticker subscription and a blog aptly titled, Coffee or Die. I loved my coffee there- truly one of the best lattes I’ve had in recent memory, and I also enjoyed their mission and just all around different approach to what is normally a pretty cookie cutter experience. Look ‘em up and try ‘em out.

The reason for the 1 star, is because of a barista. His customer service is very lacking. Some blonde headed teenager in grey shirt today was having an attitude towards my wife. We asked for a simple Liberty latte 1/2 sweet and had been here two or three times prior with no issues & the coffee had tasted great along with kind service. .After we had tried to get the coffee fixed because the latte wasn’t made right, (no coffee taste just cream and sugar) my wife decided to go back in once more to just nicely ask the drink to be remade. We paid almost $7 for it & thought it’d be simple. We weren’t being jerks. We just wanted a good drink since we paid for it. He tried to put it off and act like she didn’t know what she was talking about and when she said that the extra shot didn’t taste right in the latte when we had tried to just offer for them to fix it. Then he blamed her by saying “it’s because you had it half sweet that you don’t like it.” My wife drinks coffee black sometimes….. that wasn’t the issue and being she is a former barista, she knows her coffee well and when something isn’t done right. I don’t appreciate this kid treating my wife like that, around 3:20ish today. When he handed her the remade coffee, he smarted off by saying that he had added extra shots so that she could “taste the coffee.” It’s not hard to make a simple latte and that comment was not respectful or called for. The coffee still tasted bad, but we just decided to heck with it and won’t be back. Again I love black rifle and I’ve personally been drinking their coffee for years. We had been here two or three times with no issues and in general their coffee is great. It’s just unfortunate that he was having an attitude of remaking a simple latte and just giving my wife sass.

My husband and I love the ambience and atmosphere of this coffee shop. We love trying new coffee shops when we visit places. This is the 2nd time we’ve tried BRCC since my hubby hears them on drinkin bros podcast. However, their coffee is a little on the non-flavorful side.. I ordered a sea salt coffee latte and I don’t think any sweetener was added. It was so bad I couldn’t drink mine. Last year I had a pumpkin drink, and it was also bad. Also im a nurse and to get the discount I had to show my nursing ID. Nurses don’t carry any form of identification and it’s not so easy logging into the licensing website on a dime. We will give them another chance when we come back to the Smokys but not hopeful! We did buy espresso beans so fingers crossed

Absolutely amazing experience with my family at black rifle coffee. Friendly staff, great coffee, god bless America. I got the 1776, my wife got a latte, my sister in law got a horchata and she said it was good. My brother in law got the smoky joe and said it was to die for.

Black Rifle Coffee Company – Pigeon Forge Stopped in for my morning coffee fix—first time here, and I was hooked right away. The atmosphere is awesome and welcoming. The young lady at the front counter was super helpful, and the whole place has a great vibe. What really stood out to me is their strong support for veterans. As a small business owner myself, I always try to give back to vets and law enforcement, so seeing a company that shares those values means a lot. Whoever owns this spot—props to you. You’ve earned a piece of my respect. The coffee was excellent—super fresh with just the right balance of flavor and complexity. I’ll be in Tennessee for the next two weeks, and this place is officially my go-to morning stop.
