Crema's Take
“Nestled in Williamsburg, this hybrid cafe and stationery shop punches above its weight with genuinely top-tier espresso that visitors keep coming back for, paired with creative signature drinks like their celebrated black sesame caramel latte. The generous, light-filled space strikes that rare balance of being both welcoming for lingering work sessions and genuinely cozy for meeting friends, with baristas who clearly care about what they're pouring.”

This sister location is much bigger than the other one and has a coffee-shop style setup, which is a big bonus. I visited on a Monday, so it wasn’t busy, but most tables were still taken by people working. On weekdays, you may want to order to-go and shop in the back. I visited when they had the Earl Grey Matcha Latte, and it was honestly the best matcha I’ve ever had. The tea and matcha flavors were strong and blended perfectly—highly recommend if it’s still available. Also try their tart I think this one is popular since I’m the one got the last one and it is tasty. The shop in the back is super cute and sells trinkets, stationery, tote bags, candles, snacks/foods, books, and more. I spent about 30 minutes just browsing because there was so much to look at. Staff in both the café and shop were very friendly. They carry items similar to Niconeco Zakkaya, so this is a great alternative if you’re far from the other location.
I love this cafe!!! I’m visiting from Toronto & this has been our go to cafe to get coffee. Tried a few other spots but this one’s espresso is top tier. It also has a such a cozy vibe and lots of space to do work from. The coconut cloud matcha drink is delicious (I’ve gotten it every day even though I’m not a matcha person). Also, the staff here are so sweet & fun especially Steven! Can’t wait to visit again!
Loaf on Paper is a cafe + stationery store located in Williamsburg. We saw the pastries, and they were pretty standard pastries, good tasting but not something outstanding. They also sold other teas and drinks here as well. What stood out to us and was our main focus for coming was the stationery section. They're all decently priced, though some pieces felt expensive. However, it was made up for by the quality of the goods. We ended up picking up a journal, which was very nice. The staff was also friendly as well, as they noticed we accidentally brought a tester one to the front and they made sure to get us a new copy.
The baristas are so friendly, and the drinks are amazing! I was skeptical, considering it’s primarily a stationery store, but my black sesame caramel latte was divine!! I want to come back and try the matcha drinks. They also have plenty of seating, so you’ll have a good chance of snagging a table. The selection of stationery supplies is really nice too.
Stepping into Loaf on Paper at 64 Grand St is an absolute delight. This isn't just a cafe or just a stationery store; it's a thoughtfully curated space that combines the best of both worlds into a truly unique, calming experience. The atmosphere immediately draws you in. With its soft, natural lighting, exposed wooden beams, and beautiful Japanese-inspired decor, the space is airy, warm, and feels like a peaceful escape from the hustle of Brooklyn. The counter, with its subtle sage-green tones, is inviting, and the display of beautiful pastries makes deciding what to order the hardest part of the visit. I highly recommend their matcha latte (perfectly balanced and creamy) and any of their freshly baked goods. What truly sets Loaf on Paper apart is the niconeco zakkaya side. It’s a treasure trove for anyone who appreciates quality paper goods, unique gifts, and Japanese design. From exquisite notebooks and colorful planners to charming stickers and art supplies, every item feels hand-selected. Browsing the aisles is a meditative experience, and the selection is inspiring for both artists and organized thinkers alike. The staff is incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful without being intrusive. Whether you're settling in for a quiet work session, meeting a friend, or hunting for that perfect piece of stationery, Loaf on Paper offers a cozy, beautiful, and inspiring environment. It’s an easy five stars and a must-visit destination in Williamsburg!
