Cafe Réveille
201 Steiner St, San Francisco, CA
Crema's Take
“Café Réveille has earned its reputation as a beloved neighborhood staple with consistently excellent coffee and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere that keeps regulars coming back. The spacious, well-lit interior and generous outdoor seating make it ideal for lingering over a latte or settling in for work, though do note that wifi disappears on weekends. Beyond solid espresso drinks, they shine with thoughtful touches like quality herbal teas and a well-executed brunch menu that caters to dietary preferences, all delivered with the kind of friendly service that makes you feel like a regular on your first visit.”

This has become one of the best cafes in town! It’s truly a hidden gem and I absolutely love this place. The latte I ordered was the best I’ve had — I could honestly stay here all day. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Even though it’s a popular spot in the neighborhood, we haven’t gone by in over a year after the tip-theft controversy. We finally did grab brunch again and dear lord! Did they mass fire the kitchen staff like they were mass firing the baristas a while back?? Worst breakfast burrito of my life. Majorly under salted. Each bite had a different consistency of egg - scrambled, over medium, almost hard boiled yolk texture. The potatoes were big chunks with skin still on and no flavor. I couldn’t make myself keep eating the burrito at the halfway point. At least the lady at pick up window was nice and responsive. Will promptly revert to not visiting in favor of the better spots in the neighborhood.
Very good neighborhood cafe. Fast and friendly service and ample seating area. The place is well lit and comfortable. Coffee was very good.
PSA: No Wifi on the weekends! The hibiscus herbal tea I had here was alright. Service was friendly. It’s a good place to work/study, with ample tables inside & out but no wifi on weekends. There’s some good food options if you’d like. Bathroom available.
One of Cafe Réveille’s many great outposts in San Francisco! All of the city’s Cafe Réveilles consistently impresses me with their great coffee, tasty food (including lots of vegetarian and gluten-free options), and top tier vibes, and this location is no exception. One of my friends is gluten-free, so this is one of our go-to locations for weekend coffee, but it’s also a great place for a casual lunch or mid-workday coffee / remote work. The coffee is great — not overly acidic, not overly nutty, but still quite flavorful and rich — and they have some fantastic latte art. The staff is super friendly, and the space is lovely. It does get pretty crowded so it can be hard to find a spot to sit inside, but they do have a pretty large outdoor section too. The wifi doesn’t quite reach the edges of the outdoor area, but you should be fine at one of the tables next to the cafe.
