Cable Car Coffee

773 Redwood Hwy, Mill Valley, CA

Crema's Take

Nestled in a charming cable car structure right on Mill Valley's streets, this spot delivers reliable espresso drinks and Italian-style pastries at prices that won't break the bank—think perfect cappuccinos for five bucks. The iconic setup attracts both drive-thru regulars rushing to work and road-trippers looking for a quirky pit stop with wetland views and surprisingly friendly service. Fair warning: consistency varies a bit, but when they nail it, locals keep coming back for that no-fuss quality and nostalgic atmosphere.

A perfect cappuccino for $5 and 2 minutes of your time! I started stopping here on my way to work and beyond happy with the quality of their cappuccinos, not to mention their price point and speediness! I tried one of their breakfast burritos this morning and was a 10/10! I highly recommend this place! Great people too!

First time here, I ordered a large latte and plain croissant. The latte was “ready” in seconds, huge red flag. It was lukewarm and watered-down, as if they poured hot water into an old latte. The croissant was mass-produced and stale. Terrible experience and very disappointing. I’d recommend Equator in Mill Valley or Sausalito, or Fox and Kit in San Rafael.

Satisfying black coffee served from a cute cable car. Wetlands make a fine backdrop for together time on a road trip. Close and convenient to the highway.

Great little place. It looks like a drive up only but we walked up & they do have some outdoor seating. Decent coffee, quick service, super-friendly staff, and even the quick-heat breakfast burritos were pretty good! (I had the green chile.) And you can't beat the prices. If I lived in the area this would probably be my regular morning pick-me-up :)
