Crema's Take

This San Jose spot excels at creative drink mashups, blending coffee and milk tea in ways that feel genuinely innovative, though the sweetness levels can be unpredictable across visits. The real draw here is the warm hospitality—regulars rave about staff like Hanh who remember faces and actually care—making it a solid neighborhood hangout if you don't mind squeezing into tight seating or hunting for parking. Fair warning: their Thai milk tea skews heavy on vanilla syrup rather than authentic tea depth, so you might want to explore their coffee-milk tea hybrids instead.

This is the worst Thai milk tea I’ve ever tasted in my life. Honestly, it didn’t taste like tea at all — more like milk with vanilla syrup. It was terrible. I even tried adding more Thai tea at home to save it, but it still had that same awful artificial flavor. It was extremely sweet. Even my 7-year-old daughter, who loves sweets, couldn’t drink it. The boba pearls were also hard, as if they weren’t fully cooked. I remember when this place first opened, their drinks had a decent flavor, but the quality has really gone downhill. I hate to post a negative review, but I’d recommend avoiding to order this Thai tea if possible.

Compared to the larger location in Cupertino Plaza, this spot was disappointing. There’s no option to fully customize sweetness only a “less sweet” setting, which still tasted overwhelmingly sugary, more like syrup than tea. On top of that, the drinks were filled with about 50% ice, making it a poor value overall. With so many quality boba shops opening in the area, I don’t see myself returning here.

This 7 Leaves location is pretty close to me, so I occasionally stop by! Hanh is extremely friendly and helpful. I've seen her a few times when I stop by. I've ordered: -japanese matcha soy tea $5.75, similar to starbucks matcha latte -thai tea with boba $6.15 -pistachio macaraon $2.25 I personally drink the matcha one...definitely on the sweeter side. Also the boba can definitely be a bit hit or miss...so buyer beware! Usually easy parking in the plaza...could be busy during peak hours. Some seating inside!

Really good tea and coffee! Somewhat limited seating at this location, and parking can be tough during peak meal hours due to the other places in the plaza. There's more parking in the back, so don't be discouraged if parking up front looks full!

This could be my new favorite milk tea store (also serve coffee). There are less options but you can mix the drinks. I have been looking for a places that serve coffee milk tea. My first cup from 7 leaves Cafe was delicious and by far my favorite compared to Gong Cha and Share Tea. I have to say, it probably had a strong coffee flavor than milk tea flavor. A hint of vietnamese coffee taste. I was able to mix the house coffee with the Assam milk tea. I also tried a salted caramel macaroon. I know I will go back before the week is over!
