Crema's Take

Tucked inside a charming converted house near downtown Mesa, Jarrods blends coffee craft with genuine community space, functioning as part café, part art gallery, and part creative hub where you'll find everything from specialty matcha lattes to live music events. The independent vibe feels refreshingly authentic—think less corporate chain and more beloved neighborhood gathering spot—where regulars and visitors alike linger over thoughtfully made drinks and fresh food while soaking in genuinely artsy, welcoming energy.

I've lived in this neighborhood for years yet it wasn't until a good friend's Birthday celebration i found this hidden gem. I will definitely return and support this business. The space was so beautiful 😍. I am @PuffQueenKayla666 aka Schoolteachergonebad Travel Braider and Entertainer.

Went to the new location on University today. So cool. Neat old house that's been transformed into a coffee shop, art gallery, light eatery, game room, music venue, etc. Great food & coffee. Hubby & I had breakfast there. We had the Artisan bread sandwich with bacon, egg & cheese & he had the ham, egg & cheese. A good amount of yummy chips came with it. They were delicious. They were homemade sandwiches. We even had to get a box for the leftovers. The customer service was great. It has an eclectic atmosphere & there are one-of-a-kind items for sale as well. One can eat either inside or outside. There are plenty of cozy spaces for dining & chatting & several cool rooms to explore. Nice & clean & inviting. Don't know about the night life there, but really enjoyed the quiet time this morning.

Cozy little coffee shop. Definitely a different vibe, very artsy, feels like something you'd find in downtown Phoenix near the ASU campus. I'm not usually one for the whole hippie Portlandia aesthetic but this place is neat. It's a fun place to hang out. We popped in for breakfast and coffee. There was a young woman playing violin inside (that sea shanty was sick by the way, props). Staff was very friendly. There's a decent selection of different breakfast and lunch sandwiches, some bagels and baked goods prepared fresh on site. I enjoyed my jalapeno cheese bagel and coffee. What really set this place over the top for me was the restroom. It has to be the best restroom in all of Mesa (maybe all of Phoenix?). It's magisterial. There's also an outdoor dining area and vendor booths selling a variety of little knick knacks (jewelry, stickers, even artwork). Pretty neat. Parking is a little funny since it's situated in a neighborhood.

This independent gem is less than 10 minute walk from the convention center. I'm from out of town and so happy I decided to escape to Jarrod's. The food is fresh and made to order. The vegan blueberry scone is soft and packed with fruit. Let's take a moment and appreciate the health greens on the sandwiches. Great coffee too! I found the proprietors to be friendly and excited about their cafe/ art venue. Eclectic, quickly and stunning art all sits under a gorgeous chandelier. I assume live music and events happens here with the corner dedicated to a large piano. As a bonus, I snagged some cute earrings from some art vendors outside. Pass the chains and head to Jarrod's for a unique experience with better food! Also just go see the restroom- it's spectacular!

Very cute place. I love the vibes and everything. The drink I got was a matcha with oat milk, it was a mistake. Next time I’m just going to do coffee or tea. :) I do wish they had photos for their food. It’s hard for me to order food without pictures or photos. So I didn’t get to order any. My kid and I loved it. Will be back.
