Caffetto Café
708 W 22nd St, Minneapolis, MN
Crema's Take
“Tucked on 24th Street just west of Lyndale, this funky independent café wraps you in a bohemian-grunge warmth that feels genuinely restorative, complete with heavy metal soundtracks and enough comfortable seating to justify nursing a cheap coffee for hours. It's the rare Minneapolis spot that welcomes sketchers, laptop workers, and daydreamers alike, though coffee purists should know the drinks lean toward reliable but understated rather than exceptional.”

Dropped in to Caffetto Cafe for a coffee and a quick sailor fude fountain pen sketch. Snow, ice and heavy metal music - oddly soothing. The Caffeto on 24th St just west of Lyndale, it's a funky place know for dirty chai and chocolate cake, filled with an eclectic collection of everything, a basement of arcade machines, open late and full of highly sketchable interesting people. Highly recommend for sketchers urban.
I don’t even know where to begin — this little café has genuinely restored my faith in the magic of small, independent places. From the moment you step inside, you're wrapped in warmth: the soft glow of fairy lights, the smell of freshly ground coffee dancing with the scent of warm pastries straight from the oven, and the gentle hum of jazz that feels like a hug from an old friend. But it’s not just the atmosphere. The baristas treat every cup like a work of art — you can taste the care, the precision, the love. I had their signature honey-lavender latte today, and I swear it tasted like sunshine and calm in liquid form. The avocado toast? Perfectly ripe, generously portioned, served with a side of kindness from the staff who remembered my name after just one visit.
This used to be one of my favorite hangouts, and it's still one of the few coffeeshops where you can buy a cheap drink and sit down in a comfy chair for a few hours. That being said... I feel like they've really compromised on their values of being an open community space by adding locks to the bathrooms-- bathrooms that are only accessible via a rickety staircase even to paying customers.
with how cute the vibes of this place was, I was really disappointed with the drinks. flavor-wise, the drinks tasted fine, just very very average "espresso and milk" that tastes like you could make it at home. the cappuccino that I ordered was just a bubbly latte, not even remotely close to how cappuccino foam should be. overall, it could be a nice place to chill at to do work or something, but absolutely not a place I would go to for good drinks (especially given how many other GREAT places there are around.)
During my recent visit to Minneapolis, I had the pleasure of stopping by Caffetto Coffee House. The ambiance was nothing short of beautiful. The bohemian-grunge vibe of the place made me feel instantly comfortable, and it was evident that this was a space where people could gather without the pressure of alcohol consumption. The staff was notably friendly and knowledgeable about their offerings. Their chai was delightful, and the espresso was top-notch. I truly appreciate the late-night hours they offer, making it a perfect spot for night owls like me. Overall, my experience at Caffetto was memorable, and I genuinely liked it. If you're in Minneapolis, I highly recommend giving this place a visit!
