Rising For People Coffee

Crema's Take

Rising For People Coffee is a women-owned gem in Reno that masterfully balances serious espresso craftsmanship with an unexpectedly charming, plant-filled atmosphere that feels more like a thoughtfully designed living room than a typical coffee shop. Their team genuinely connects with regulars—offering honest recommendations like their tiramisu coffee and taking time to guide you through their pour over options—while their pastries and the option to sample beans before buying create a real discovery experience. It's the kind of place where you'll linger over a slow sit with friends, breathe in the earthy air, and wonder why you haven't been coming here since day one.

i just went here for my second time and it’s becoming one of my favorite coffee places in town. i placed an order for online pickup and when i arrived the ladies working that morning were honest about getting their new online order system working. i totally understand that situation! when my coffee was finally ready they also gave me some free cookies for having to wait. i love the vibe of the place, i love how professional and honest the staff is, and i can’t wait to go back!

Was pleasantly surprised to see that this location doesn't just do coffee. I'm putting together a Black History Month raffle basket and came to this business being that it is not only woman owned but black owned company. They've got all kinds of goodies in there.. from coffee to candles to clothing to food products to even a local florist with some last minute bouquets you can buy there. They're very pretty. If you haven't been here please go check them out. They have flights!

I came here with my mom and my sister, and the cafe is very beautiful and charming in terms of its location and vibe of the environment. The fact that this small local coffee shop is women-owned and Veteran-owned is amazing and very inspiring! As a women and a veteran myself, this is what hard-work and determination is. In terms of the food and drinks, it was unique and delicious and quite an experience with their whimsical coffee flights. I can see the wait time being a tad bit long, but what cafe doesn't have it's pros and cons ? Especially when it comes to the food industry in general. In my eyes, I see this being a good problem because of the amount of support of locals coming in. Every problem will be met with a solution and it's only a matter of time this place will be booming in volume. Now as for the recent signage that was put up, I say BRAVO. It's a freedom of speech and every person has a right to feel and speak on what they believe in. This local coffee shop can't make everyone happy and yes I am saying you (Anne Lee) and any other person that seems to take misery this sign. If you don't like it, then go somewhere else. Plain and Simple. We all can't be bullies because we see something we don't like. Simply just walk away and go on about your day. I hope to see our town grow more in kindness and support toward local business such as this gem of a place. I will be returning and will be making sure every person I know how great this place is and to give it a try! Also if anyone is ever in a rush to get coffee, go to Starbucks. Cafés such as this place and any other local coffee shop are meant to be present in the moment to enjoy a quality cup of coffee made by passionate coffee enthusiasts and dreamers that actually made it happen. If you are uptight, grumpy, in a rush, impatient and rude person, best to go somewhere else.

Great new coffee shop! Super stylish, warm and inviting. Nice seating options and great light. I keep wondering when Reno will hit a saturation point of coffee shops…but this one is a gem on a block that has a lot of new growth. I’m most excited about the gluten-free options they have for food - GF bread for the toasts and GF pastries. The salmon toast was delicious with the GF bread. Also lots of non-dairy options. Easy to park on Vesta versus Holcomb

Great atmosphere smells very earthy and all the plants inside were dope ! The option to try certain coffee was cool, actually bought a bag of flor de maíz. Tanya recommended the tiramisu coffee and it was really good ! Ayline brought us the coffee and was very polite and professional! Overall a great experience!!
