World Foods

Crema's Take
“World Foods is a gem that doubles as both a elevated grocery and a destination coffee bar, where you can linger over exceptional cold brew or espresso while surrounded by carefully curated international products and fresh deli items. The late-opening hours and inviting, unhurried atmosphere make it perfect for a slow Sunday morning or casual meetup, and their house-made pastries and light breakfast offerings pair beautifully with their genuinely fantastic coffee. It's the kind of place that keeps visitors coming back, blending the best of a neighborhood grocer with the soul of a proper espresso bar.”

I discovered this lovely grocer a few years ago on a visit to Portland. We stayed there again this past month and again wandered into this space. There is a wine bar, there is an espresso bar, there is a cheese counter, but exploring the aisles and looking at all their international goods is also very fun. We visited our first day in Portland and loaded up a bag of snacks for our hotel room. The last day in Portland, we got a little bite and sat at a table inside the restaurant before heading out to the airport. The orange 🍊 juice machine looked really cool, but we were not in a juice mood. Tin fish seems to be the rage right now and there is a great selection of that as well.
I was in town visiting and stopped by for some water and a few light snacks. Really cute store atmosphere, clean, and inviting. They have a good selection of products, and I’m guessing it’s a local shop, which makes it feel even nicer to support. The prices are a little higher than some other stores, but not unreasonably so. I walked there, so I wasn’t sure about parking, but if they don’t have a lot, parking could be a bit tough given the location. Overall, a charming little spot and worth a visit!
World Foods has a really nice, large selection of fresh veggie and deli items. It’s a little on the expensive side, but the quality is great and the selection makes it worth it. Stopped in to get some snacks while visiting Portland. Always fun to walk through and find different items we don’t have at home.
Came across the downtown World Foods on a slow late-morning Sunday. Lovely elevated grocery with a hard-to-pass-by coffee and wine bar—so, that’s where I landed. Love the bar atmosphere: welcoming, woodsy, quiet, touch of retro. Ordered a caffe latte and berry scone. Good. Service: Indifferent Will go back to try a wine experience (then grocery shopping—what's not to love?).
I'm in Portland for only 3 nights and I was here twice during that time. I came for breakfast and had the ham and brie rolls and a cold brew (their coffee is fantastic!) and I came for lunch the next day and had the sumac potatoes and the roast beef. It's home-style cooking at its best. The staff is super friendly and if you're ordering from the deli, you'll have to pay at the cash register, so no tipping system in place. Most of the food is Lebanese in origin but there's also a lot of variety. I can't recommend this place enough! Their baklava is also worth trying.
