Jittery Joe's Roaster

780 E Broad St, Athens, GA

Crema's Take

This beloved Athens roaster has built a loyal following around expertly crafted espresso drinks and single-origin pour overs, with baristas like J.W. and Charlie who clearly take pride in their craft—some regulars drive an hour just to grab their signature Wake n Bake blend. Beyond the coffee itself, Jittery Joe's has cultivated a genuinely creative community space that celebrates local artists and baristas as artisans, making it as much a gathering spot for coffee enthusiasts as it is a working roastery where you can watch the magic happen. Fair warning: the parking lot could use some love, but the warm hospitality and exceptional coffee more than make up for it.

Too bad Buddy the Elf never got to try this coffee. Wake n Bake literally is the Worlds Best Cup of Coffee! I just wish the parking lot was a little nicer, kind of messy in a rainy day!

I buy 5 lb bags of coffee at a time. Always found employees exceptional. I have been going for over 2 yrs. Complainers probably their nature

Just moved to the area and had to travel an hour to check this place out. Hit Trader Joe's while in Athens as well, so worth the drive. Got Wake and Bake and Traveling' Joe, and both are fresh and rich tasting. Will make this trip once a month for sure! Shout out to Patrick for his help. Positive, smiling guy who makes you feel like a regular. Definitely put this place on your to do list. We visited the roaster, not the coffee shops.

Coffee roasting is a hot and complicated process but Charlie makes it sound pretty straightforward. Great coffee and a good place to see a master at work.
