Crema's Take

Way Home Coffee cultivates an intimate, lived-in sanctuary where creative Asian-inspired drinks like the creamsicle matcha latte and sweet potato einspanner shine alongside thoughtfully crafted espresso drinks. The cozy space feels like a friend's kitchen rather than a typical café, with warm owners who genuinely care about explaining each drink and making you feel at home. Whether you're lingering solo with a cold brew or meeting a friend, this Santa Monica gem delivers drinks that taste as considered as the inviting atmosphere feels.

My girlfriend and I had a pleasant experience and we’d definitely recommend you give this a try if you’re into matcha and Korean coffee drinks. It’s very nice to see Asian-inspired cafes making their way to the west side! The sweet potato einspanner was definitely a stand out. The blueberry duo matcha had a very rich, almost jammy blueberry flavor to it. I found that it overpowered the matcha, but if you like fruitier matcha then you may like it! The drinks are on the smaller end for the price, but I found that with the richness of the drinks the size was suitable for sipping and savoring. The space is cute, but like the drinks it’s on the smaller end, so seating was limited on the weekend.

Just like the cafe's name calls out, the ambiance gave that relaxing homey space. It suited solo visitor or 2-3 people group max per table and the place was pretty busy. Nonetheless, ordering process was speedy including getting the drinks ready. Their favorites appeared to be their specialty einspanner drinks as well as the seasonal menu particularly the creamsicle. We had their Sweet Potato Einspanner and Creamsicle Latte, both of which came with cream top, but surprisingly still let the bold coffee flavor stood out despite being very creamy at the same time so you got the two great things in one go. If you preferred something less creamy you might wanna go with the latter, but bear in mind the orange flavor was tad strong.

Such a cute cafe with a great menu. My sweet potato einspanner was perfect! You could really taste the sweet potato flavor in there. I would come back and try their other items on the menu. Service was super sweet and the wait was less than 15 mins. If parking was easier to find, I think I would be here everyday.

I found about this new cafe on Instagram and wanted to try it out on their soft opening days. The employees are so nice and explains each drink so well. I tried the espresso tonic, strawberry yogurt ade, creamsicle matcha latte, mint choco banana latte, and the cereal milk croissant. The espresso tonic was one of the best I ever had. It's so hard to find the exact proportion with espresso and tonic, but Way Home Coffee executed it so well! 10/10 Strawberry yogurt ade was light and refreshing with hints of strawberry. Definitely something I would get again! 10/10 The creamsicle matcha latte was subtly sweet with hints of tangerine. The matcha wasn't overpowering and the orange and matcha blended well together. 10/10 The cereal milk croissant was soft and creamy. 10/10 The cafe has a traditional Korean vibe to it which I personally love. Reminds me of my travels in Korea! Def worth checking out if you're in the area!
