Zest Cafe

Crema's Take
“Zest Cafe is a bustling neighborhood spot that shines brightest during breakfast and brunch, where thoughtfully composed dishes like their Turkey Apple & Brie Sourdough Stack and standout charcuterie boards draw devoted regulars. While execution can be inconsistent—some guests rave about beautifully presented plates and attentive service, others note oversalted dishes and quality lapses—the warm, packed-house atmosphere and genuine care from the bar staff make it worth a visit for specialty morning coffee and food.”

I went to their breakfast and the food was so salty. I asked for no cheese and I still got cheese on my food. People kept coming and going and I noticed no one finished their meal. It’s healthy sure but you can still make healthy food taste decent. I paid so much just for the food to suck. Don’t waste your money here. Also not to mention the napkin they gave me was dirty.
I visited Zest because they were giving out dinner coupons, and my lady and I wanted to check out a place that we hadn't before. I also noticed that there weren't any dinner reviews. So it would be a great opportunity for me. I'll start with the bad first. 20 minutes after eating and leaving, I had to run into a 7-11 to release my bowels, or I was going to accidentally do it in the car. Our edamame hummus and farm veggies appetizer was very refreshing, and the hummus was very unique and something we've never tasted. The sour dough that came with it was also a great addition to the appetizer. My burger looked great and tasted great too. But I'm pretty sure it was the burger that sent me directly to a public restroom at a dirty gas station. I let them know about this, but I guess they didn't really believe me. Oh well. Luckily for me and them, it was just that one diarrhea spill and not full-blown food poisoning. I studied infectious disease/pathology with a focus on clinical lab science. The culprit must have been the burger. I think I understand why they're empty for dinner. Service was great. Food tasted great and was presented well. Too bad it almost completely ruined my night and my pants.
First time here, the Charcuterie board was great, my Turkey Apple & Brie Sourdough Stack was also great, but the side order of Pesto pasta sundried tomato was terrible, hard to chew and it seems like old pasta hard and dry. If you do come here please do NOT order the Pesto pasta.
Tried zest cafe on a Sunday early afternoon. It was pretty packed but was able to be seated immediately. Nothing necessarily was wrong, but the food was okay. Nothing bad, nothing stood out. We did wait quite some time for our food (and this is when it slowed down a bit and people left), but overall it was okay.
Best breakfast I’ve had in a very long time. What a beautiful little needle in a haystack! The dish was presented beautifully. The service I was given by the girl behind the bar was top notch. Every employee looked polished, was polite, kind and attentive. I ordered the farm egg and avocado toast. The eggs were poached to perfection and an arugula salad with thin sliced radishes was served on the side. The dish left me feeling satisfied but not heavy-the perfect healthy start to my day. I can’t wait to try the rest of their dishes! They serve lunch as well starting at 11am. In the photos I attached it only shows the small bar area but down the hall there is a larger dining room. Highly recommend! It is obvious that everyone on the team really cares and that’s what drives a truly great dining experience.
