Caracas Bakery
72 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables, FL
Crema's Take
“Tucked on Miracle Mile, this Venezuelan-French bakery strikes that rare balance between a quick caffeine stop and a reason to linger, with espresso drinks that deserve the pretty latte art and pastries—especially their celebrated almond croissant made without shortcuts—that clearly justify the hype around Coral Gables' best. The intentional, unhurried approach to both their coffee and baked goods makes it easy to abandon your "grab and go" plans and settle in, whether you're meeting a friend or savoring a cappuccino with a fresh ham and cheese on toasted baguette.”

Caracas Bakery on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables is the kind of place that makes you forget you were “just grabbing something quick.” Venezuelan French inspired, very intentional, and you can feel the craft the second you walk in. I got the almond croissant warmed up and it was exactly what you want. Crisp, flaky layers, a generous shower of toasted almonds on top, and that oozing almond center that somehow tastes rich but still clean. Double baked, buttery, and worth planning your day around. This place really lives up to the hype and title of 'best bakery in Miami'. I had a cappuccino, a pan dulce, and a ham and cheese on a toasted baguette. The cappuccino had a really pretty design on it to match the delicious taste. The pan de dulce was out of this world. It had a sugary crusted top, the bread was pillowy soft with Anise in it which made it even better. The sandwich was also unbelievably delicious, the ham and cheese inside of the fresh baguette was simple, but wonderful. Definitely recommend checking this place out, it is worth it!
The BEST pastry shop in Coral Gables and I’ve been to many places. Their almond croissant is absolutely delicious and unlike so many other places they DO NOT add any almond extract garbage, they use real almonds, you can taste it. I highly recommend this place, the staff is super friendly and on top of it. The coffee is also great. I hope this place thrives.
Overall it's okay, personally I liked it but I wasn't blown away and my mom wasn't impressed. I ordered an iced matcha latte and a plain croissant. The matcha wasn't my favorite personally, but that's because it wasn't sweet (I like my matcha really sweet). I will say they were very nice about helping me, and gave me simple syrup on top of the honey and vanilla I had already ordered with it. If you don't like your matcha sweet, I think you might like it. My mom ordered a cappuccino I believe. They made a cute design in it, which was a nice touch but she wasn't impressed with the coffee. She also ordered a pistachio croissant, she said that as a whole everything was okay. I ordered a plain croissant, which I really enjoyed actually. It had a nice buttery almost sweet flavor, the only thing is it wasn't warmed up. All in all, I'd rate it a 6.5/10 and my mom gave it 5/10. I recommend going for their baked goods, and the drinks I think depends on your preference. Also, environment/atmosphere wise I'd say was pretty nice because there was both indoor and outdoor seating and it's in a fairly nice spot.
Right on Miracle Mile and as you walk in through the door on your right is a little baking area so you can see that they make baked goods fresh. Then it’s a small tight passage way to ordering. Which can become like a bottleneck so be patient if there’s several people in front of you. There’s limited seating against the wall and on the back . Definitely had to try their American coffee, which is strong and I liked it. The banana bread was definitely different from any other banana bread I’ve ever tasted it almost had like a chocolate flavor to it, but I don’t believe there’s any chocolate in it. Caracas Bakery caters to a single customer or two any group bigger is uncomfortable. It’s mostly a quick bite or for pick up and you’re on your way… But I did enjoy it, and I will return. To try other items, especially cinnamon roll, which they ran out of - next time.
