Crema's Take
“Atulea is a charming Seattle café that excels at both traditional and creative specialty drinks, with a particular reputation for exceptional matcha that keeps customers coming back. The space itself radiates warmth and personality—think cute, welcoming decor with genuinely friendly staff—making it feel like a destination for lingering conversations or solo moments rather than just a quick coffee stop. While their drinks command premium prices, the quality shines through in thoughtfully crafted beverages like their signature coconut sticky rice tea and inventive matcha variations, paired with standout pastries like their chocolate-studded pumpkin bread.”

I really, really enjoy coming to this cafe. It has a lot of personality and variety. It is also super cute and welcoming. The drinks do cost a pretty penny, but they are high-quality and delicious. My favorite is the churro latte. Consider me a regular! * I will say, the acoustics within this cafe cause sounds to reverberate throughout really loudly. I would highly recommend bringing headphones if you are planning to study.
such a cute cafe. i’ve only tried the matcha, but it’s ALWAYS great. I didn’t like the black sesame bc i thought that it was too grainy and bitter (would’ve liked it better with a little less in the latte) but my favorite is the summer time pineapple matcha. I love to get the earl grey/london fog matcha latte as well. as far as food, they usually have a few baked goods/snacks. i’ve only tried the ube brownie which was soooo good and fudgy. i wish this place was more affordable because to get a matcha latte with any flavor (let alone plant milk) is like $9 before tip (after tax) otherwise i’d be here everyday.
Very cute little shop. I had the pumpkin bread which was very good, I appreciate that it has chocolate in it. I had the rose lychee milk tea. The pearls had good texture but not the most flavorful. I generally get less sugar because of how sweet the toppings are, this is not a place to do that.
The special “coconut sticky rice” is realllllly good. You can really taste the oolong tea and the coconut sticky rice. Didn’t like the Matcha with black sesame last time since the matcha flavor is weak to me so I ordered the decaf black sesame. You can taste the black sesame more and love the combination of both. Not much seating (4 small round tables) but more seating than the phinney ridge location. They have a stamp card here! buy 9 get 1 free!
Looking for good matcha? Go here! This space is so so cute! The decor is welcoming, the staff is friendly and effective and the matcha is delicious. Already have been back twice in four days. I also bought their matcha and matcha whisk to start making it at home.
