New Buenos Aires Bakery & Cafe
1723 W Verdugo Ave, Burbank, CA
Crema's Take
“This charming Burbank café captures authentic Buenos Aires vibes with freshly baked facturas and empanadas that keep regulars coming back, all at prices that won't break the bank. While it lives comfortably in Porto's shadow, the genuinely friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere make it a gem for those seeking unhurried coffee moments and quality pastries without the lines. It's the kind of place where you can linger over a traditional Argentine coffee and feel like a local, even if the storefront could use a little help getting noticed from the street.”

With Porto’s Bakery & Cafe nearby (and usually packed), this place could be such a solid Plan B if you don’t feel like standing in line. That’s why it feels like a missed opportunity. The space looks like it was maybe going for rustic, but it just feels kind of thrown together. The furniture and decor are tacky, the pastry display looks sad, and the whole place has a “storage room we accidentally walked into” vibe. The chalkboard menu is hard to read, so ordering isn’t exactly smooth either. The food didn’t help. The empanadas didn’t taste fresh. The ham-and-cheese one was basically a rolled slice of ham with cheese inside. And the meat empanada had a piece of bone in it, which is just not okay. The music was also kind of annoying and added to the weird atmosphere. Overall, not somewhere I’d go back to.
Super cute spot, really friendly staff, and the facturas were awesome!
New Buenos Aires Bakery & Cafe is a must go. We stop by all the time for their pastries, empanadas, and coffee. Everything is fresh, tasty, and priced well. The server was kind and friendly, which made the visit even better. The only thing I wish is that they were more noticeable from the street. There’s no outdoor seating, so you kind of have to already know the place exists. Maybe that’s why there’s never a line. Honestly, a spot this good should be packed with people waiting. I highly recommend it.
I placed an order of empanadas . I went to pick them up and brought them home. They were heated up at the place. They weren’t fresh what I believed they’re frozen and they’re defrosted to heated when you order them. They were so terrible I got sick . Please make sure they’re fresh. This people don’t care if you get sick. Very disappointed. I spent about 50 dollars waisted to the trash. I was really afraid to get sick. Very unresponsive people. They don’t care you get sick.🤢
A must go! We come here all the time for pastries, empanadas and coffee. They are delicious. A place with good quality and price. They need more advertisement and be more noticeable from the street, because they dont have outdoor seating and you have to know that the place is there. I wonder if that's why there's never a line. A place like this should be packed all the time with people waiting. I am from Spain, we love pastries and "cafe con leche" and this is one is one of the best places. I highly recommend it!
