Crema's Take

This charming Dover café blooms with genuine warmth, where the staff remembers regulars and their orders while crafting some of the best matcha lattes and espresso drinks in the area. Beyond coffee, Wild Valentine shines with their exceptional oat bowls, pastries, and thoughtful touches like gluten-free options and a curated selection of gifts that make it as much a gathering place as a caffeine destination. It's the kind of spot where you'll linger over breakfast, feel genuinely welcomed, and find yourself coming back.

Best matcha lattes and coffee in downtown Portsmouth. Also the most welcoming team who always say hi when you come in, and even remember your order. There are gluten free options - like their oat bowls- that as a celiac I’ve been safe eating every time. They are the only coffee shop in downtown that has created a community and I really enjoy being a part of it. Plus they have flowers and cards if you need to get a last-minute Valentines purchase ..

Rolling in along the moan strat of Portsmouth’s South End, the ride is gentle, avoiding the bustle of Market Square. Wild Valentine appears as a bloom itself. A few umbrella’d tables out front invite a pause, though the name gives no hint of what lies within. Alas, no true welcome for the vélo. One must lean a quality machine against the side wall, hidden from view — a compromise unworthy of a rider’s trust. Bathrooms, however, are spacious and clean, and service is swift enough. No apparent self-service water, one must ask. Inside: bright, Scandinavian restraint, perfumed with flowers. Minimalist, curious, undeniably pretty. Morning calm hums gently, but no other cyclists linger — they pass by, leaving the space to locals and flower-buyers. Here lies the café’s strength: La Mulita roasts from nearby Rye, poured with respect. Café served in a ceramic, not paper. Iced coffee with coffee ice cubes — a thoughtful panache that reveals a true devotion to flavour. Among the best in the area. Sparse carb offerings. Two pastries on the day, neither tempting for the miles ahead. This is no pâtisserie of destiny, but a side note, almost ornamental. Wild Valentine is a jewel of the neighborhood, a place to stroll and sip, to admire fleurs with one’s lover. For the cyclist, however, it is more detour than destination. A café of elegance, yes, but not of the road. Ratings Café: 4.5 Pâtisserie: 2 À Vélo: 2

Love the coffee, lattes and food. Staff is very helpful and the shop is beautiful. They sell a good assortment of items that would be great for hostess gifts( cookbooks, nail polish, perfume, candles etc). Worth checking out!!

Really cute spot with great coffee and breakfast items! Their raspberry crunch oat bowl was delicious and everything on their menu looks amazing. Can’t wait to come back and also build a bouquet. Has a nice counter to sit and work or read at, as well. Highly recommend for a solo or friend date.

Best cafe in Portsmouth! Love that they serve my favorite locally roasted La Mulita coffee and espresso. The savory or sweet oatmeal bowls and pastries are delicious. Almost everything can be accommodated gluten free. Lovely staff and such a cozy atmosphere. The house-made syrups are such a treat, I especially adore the cardamom-rose latte. It's the perfect one-stop-shop for coffee, sweet little gifts, natural wines, and flowers!
