Mi Cafesito Van Ness
1495 N Van Ness Ave, Fresno, CA
Crema's Take
“Mi Cafesito Van Ness is a beloved neighborhood gem in Fresno where the community comes together over thoughtfully prepared coffee and genuine hospitality. The independent shop has earned its reputation by prioritizing quality in both their beans and their interactions, creating a welcoming space that feels like a local third place rather than just a caffeine stop. Whether you're a regular or passing through, you'll find yourself drawn back by the combination of excellent coffee and the warm, personal touch that only an independently-run café can offer.”

Went in couple times. Drinks are decent. Food is decent as well. However, customer service is not good. You walk in and don’t feel welcome. The guy they have in the front taking others seems bother by the customers. Anything you ask, seems like he don’t want to answer your questions. I asked for my chilaquiles spicy. He stated they are not able to. How ever on their menu it states “make it spicy”. They are definitely not there for the customers. Also price is little bit expensive for what they serve and their portions. Definitely won’t be going again.
Small hole in the wall but serving up a great coffee and delicious chilaquiles among other great options. They have indoor and outdoor seating…we will definitely be back!
My bestie and I stumbled upon this place and it was AMAZING!!! The food, service and atmosphere was welcoming and the chilaquiles are to die for, the torta was perfectly toasted, and everything was authentic!!! It taste like my Abuela made it! I did get the horchata latte and it was also amazing and not over sweet!! It was a little pricy but well worth it!! I will definitely be back and will be telling everyone I know!!!
Arrived at 10:15a took over 45 mins to receive food with only one customer ahead of me. Waitress brought out wrong order multiple times. Restaurant is dirty, walls are filthy with flies everywhere. Business seems to get good foot traffic but this restaurant cannot handle the crowds. The coffee was good not great. I had such high expectations for this place but I will never be back. Officially overrated, overpriced, and not worth your time. Response to Owner: Yes we waited less than 10 mins to be helped at the counter, but then waited 45 mins to receive our food. There was one person ahead of us followed by 3-4 groups of people who arrived after us that were served before we were. When you’re sitting in a spot for 45mins you can see more details than a quick TikTok video. $50 for 2 small coffees and 2 small plates of food is not worth the price. There is room for improvement, and until those improvement are made people wanting a good experience should taper their expectations of your establishment. You’ve got flies circling customers, paint chipping, floors that are not well kept, a bathroom that matches the interior of the restaurant.
Heard about this place from my wife a few months back; so a couple weeks ago we decided to make our way. Not really sure what I expected, but I liked what greeted us. This is a nice mom and pop spot; and the food and service took me to place of family. The food was Mexican home style, and reminded me of something I would ask my mom to make me when I was back home as a kid. The Mexican candy inspired coffee drinks is what brought me in to begin with and certainly did not disappoint. We will definitely be back and I plan on taking my mom to get her opinion of this place as well.
