Crema's Take
“Beni Coffee feels like a carefully curated European-style refuge, where every detail—from the mid-century modern furniture to the thoughtful design—creates a space that's as much about lingering and connecting as it is about exceptional coffee and food. The team clearly knows their craft, pulling excellent traditional and specialty drinks while maintaining the kind of genuine hospitality that makes you want to settle in with a book, sketch, or friend rather than rush out the door. It's become a rare neighborhood anchor, the kind of place where quality ingredients, aesthetic care, and authentic warmth converge into something that locals are genuinely grateful to have found.”

Incredibly good coffee. I’ve only been once and I got mine to go but I’m hoping to come back soon to do some reading and sketching. The place had a very nice vibe. The staff were incredibly attentive. And again the coffee was really good. I live around the corner and it’s nice to have a really great coffee spot so close. We also got a canelé (one of my favorite pastries) and the olive oil cake and they were both delicious. I loved the window detail on their take out box.
Spending the majority of the last several years throughout Europe, I’ve been missing the coffee shops there, so when entering Beni Coffee, I was immediately transported back to feeling like I was somewhere in Europe. Imagine chic, artsy, vintage, chill vibes, with stained glass lighting highlighting each of the vintage pieces of furniture throughout the space. I felt like I was inside some sort of intimate furniture museum cafe with a secret invite, HA HA! I couldn’t help but want to hang out longer and found myself inspired to take photos and videos of the space, while also just relaxing in the big, comfy armchair and soaking it all in. Other huge pluses? The coffee. I feel like I’m probably one of the only people who orders a black Americano, but I love it for the fresh espresso and the way it slightly softens the intensity of the beans. This Americano was perfect, not watery at all, just enough water to balance it while still letting the bean flavor come through. The barista clearly knows how to make a great coffee! The owners and staff. They were super friendly, warm, and welcoming, which really added to the overall experience and made the space feel even more inviting. Overall, it feels rare to find coffee shops like this in the Tri-State area, making it a huge plus for the neighborhood. Even if you aren’t nearby, it’s worth making the trip from PA or CT (or even Europe, HA HA!) and you won’t be let down. I’m already planning my next trip to Union City just to go back to feel inspired by the environment, sip on some great coffee, and feel the warmth of the people.
Amazing cafe shop! The location is great, the furniture is so aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. The food is so amazing and affordable, the drinks are so good, and the owners are so nice. Very cute atmosphere, good music. And dog friendly which is an amazing plus!
Beni Coffee is truly the best thing to happen to this neighborhood in a long time. From the moment you walk in, you’re wrapped in the most beautiful, cozy, and thoughtfully designed space. The mid-century modern furniture gives the café such an elevated, chic feel while still being incredibly warm and inviting—it’s hands down one of the most beautiful cafés I’ve ever been to. The ambience is perfect for hanging out, getting some work done, or just chit-chatting with friends over incredible coffee. The baristas and owners are genuinely wonderful—friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do, which makes the experience even better. And the food and coffee? Absolutely delicious. Everything tastes as good as it looks. This has officially become my new weekend spot, and I already know I’ll be here every chance I get. Beni Coffee is 100% worth the visit—for the vibes, the people, and the amazing coffee. A true neighborhood gem.
Oh my goodness, this cafe. There is thought in every detail. Delicious food and coffee. Art. Warm friendly people. Truly a unique community experience that I am very glad exists. Lovely to write and work from as well. My new favorite spot.
